The Washington Square Inn

Location is great but that’s where it ends. Rooms not as advertised, guess it’s a luck of draw if you get a good one. Early check in was organised but was half hour late yet still charged for the early check in. No air conditioning but a loud old fan so very hot in room. Toilet kept blocking and I was told to dispose of my used toilet paper in the bin next to the toilet rather than flushing…. No reception and digital key access was a bit of a hassle aswell. Be weary and I agree with other comments - just a hostel room as a greater price !!!!

Small rooms. Great location. Free coffee. Little Italy has amazing restaurants and nightlife. Easy access to trolly or be adventurous and take the Waymo self driving cars.

Location, location, location! Right on the NE corner of Washington Square, which feels like living in the heart of North Beach. Our second (top) floor room had views of Coit Tower through one corner window and of the big Saints Peter and Paul Church through the other. This place is just right for a single night, and would work well for two or three night stays. We left our car at nearby overnight paid parking and walked to everything - lunch restaurant on Columbus, stores on Grant, a jazz venue on Broadway, and the cutest and very good neighborhood dinner restaurant on Green. Things are busy and interesting outside during the day, but by 9pm (Sunday) the area was acceptably quiet. The room was clean, comfortable and cozy, and ready when promised for our early check in. Digital Key touchless check in worked well. Will definitely be back. And great value for the money.
