This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had there. I am a central coast local and visit the Madonna Inn spa and have had multiple massages done. I used to love going here and my last experience I had made me and my sister cry. The manager of the Spa (Briana) was extremely condescending to us and was on a power trip. It was my bachelorette and we got massages there and not even two seconds after getting the massage was I very aggressively confronted that my party was not allowed to be there and had to leave immediately. I then asked if we could buy pool passes of any sort and she said we had to buy a room at the hotel, then proceeded with a condescending smile that the hotel was fun, and laughed in our faces. It’s just sad to see Briana, the manager of the Spa, treat anyone like that let alone anyone celebrating their bachelorette. I will not be recommending the Madonna Inn to any of my friends who also frequent this spa again. Thanks Briana …

I love Madonna Inn. It is one of the unique and wonderful destinations in the US. The staff is lovely and well- trained. The shops are top-notch (clever buyers!) The restaurants have wonderful service and good, if old-school style, food. The Spa is impeccable. The public spaces are as over-the-top and fun and wild as ever. The rooms are a gos! Madonna Inn is such an experience, and I'll keep going and enjoying it. They do so many things so very well. And also, Madonna Inn is getting a little run down, a little dingy. She needs, and deserves, some TLC. There is chipped and peeling paint and on the walls, stairs that need repair, furniture that needs touching up, visible and ill-concealed patching... She was created with vision and a commitment to artistic care. She needs that same commitment to keep her beautiful. I hope she gets it.

Fantastic hotel, very different from what you might have encountered, it is like entering Alice in Wonderland: each room has a different theme, but they are charming with many very pleasant and surprising details and very kind and attentive service. If you pass through San Luis Obispo, you have to visit it even if you do not stay the night.
