The Eagle Inn

We stayed at The Eagle Inn a few years ago, and decided to stay here again for our anniversary. This time we splurged a bit and stayed in the Santa Rosa Casita. Very comfortable and large room. The Eagle Inn is set back about three blocks from the water, which is close enough but not too close. The breakfast was excellent and although the limited menu changed each day, the staff was happy to accomodate if we wanted to modify our order somewhat.

Super pleasant 3-night stay at Eagle Inn! Breakfast was terrific all mornings. Parking and location are both convenient. Modern bathroom with good lighting. Room stayed comfortably cool and quiet with A/C and ceiling fan. We opted for king bed which is such a luxury! To top it off, great staff.

I truly wanted my stay to be amazing, and unfortunately it fell quite a bit short. Positives: Loved the room and being able to sit on the small patio outside. Location was great and being able to walk to great restaurants, the beach, etc was excellent. Negatives: * The wifi in our room was not functional at all. It connected once and that was the end of it. This was on all three of our devices (2 phones and 1 laptop). I reported it and was told they would notify the IT person, but no change. Another person said that our room always has issues, and the best thing was to be in the lobby I had a client in Peru that I was working with and not being able to communicate (except in the lobby) was frustrating, especially with the price of the room. * Both room keys were not functional at various times. We kept them away from our cell phones, but that didn't stop them from not working. We replaced one twice and another once, which is crazy for less than a 24 hour period of time. * The waiter for breakfast was one of the most unhappy servers I have had in a very long time. I am quite aware that serving is not the most fun at times, but most put on a pretend happy face in front of the guests. Not so with him, as it was obvious he was not pleased with our presence or any request (other than our order the only thing I asked for was butter for my english muffin). * The sign in the room said a complimentary water bottle was being provided. There wasn't one there, and when I asked about it I was told there weren't any. Why put the sign in the room? Just remove it until you get more. Taken individually the negatives aren't a big deal, but as a whole it just becomes irritating, especially for the price and the heightened expectations.
