For us, the Cal Mar Hotel Suites was a top alternative to other hotels. 10min away from the Santa Monica Pier. The apartment was well-equipped with a large living/dining area, a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge/freezer, stove, toaster, microwave, and coffee maker. The bedroom was okay, the bathroom as well. Very friendly staff who helped immediately whenever questions arose. We did not use the pool. Why would we, when the Pacific is only 10 minutes away. All in all, if we come back to Santa Monica, we would book this hotel again.

We enjoyed our stay here, family of 5. It's far from 5 star luxury but is absolutely clean, rooms are huge by today's standards and very comfortable. The location is amazing and what you get for your money in this area is great. It's very old and outdated and needs a bit of TLC, but great character and california style experience. As long as your not fussy you'll enjoy this place. Kids loved the pool and it's also very clean. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We had a great experience at the Cal mar suites, my aunty had fallen ill and the front desk were great and supportive with helping us book extra nights, guidance around the area, went out of their way. As my aunty and mother left a night earlier we also received a refund for one of the nights which we were not expecting, thank you so much! Definitely recommend this property! Amazing customer service
