SOLVANG INN AND COTTAGES

Charming, clean, excellent value, friendly staff, & THE BEST pastry breakfast (which also included your choice of fresh milk/tea/coffee, OJ, roll, yummy jam, & the most delicious cheese I’ve ever eaten! Daniella at the front desk was welcoming & gave us first-time Solvangers insider info. The gentleman at the desk in the morning was also helpful. We only planned to stay one night but booked a second as the price even for Friday was very reasonable (esp compared to SB). It’s cute, simple, & comfortable. Parked right next to room & let us stay parked until 3p. Perfect location to walk to everything. Same owners (Olsens) as the bakery, who we learned from Daniella have a long history in Solvang & multiple generations of family bakers. Highly recommend both the Solvang Inn & Cottages and Olsen’s Bakery (where the staff was also very kind & friendly & great under pressure of being so busy). My husband & I can’t wait to get back to Solvang! Gaviota State Park beach is 18 min away & we saw dolphins from the shore & a satellite launch. Check out Picket Fences shop nearby where the local staff gave us great tips. This will be our new getaway. Stayed July 30-Aug 1. Thanks for a magical and much- needed getaway!

We'd never been to Solvang, so we were hoping to be pleasantly rewarded for making the effort: the rewards are great! This is a cute, clean, family-type hotel right off main street. It's in walking distance of shops and restaurants, and it was no trouble even going on a night-time walking "ghost tour" of downtown Solvang. Staff was friendly, and we appreciated the cookies!. Beds/bathroom, amenities are fine. No trouble parking. We loved Solvang, so I'm positive we'll use this hotel again.

Oh, you have to stay in Solvang. What a fun little town. Solvang Inn and cottages was a good place for us. It had a pool that we did not use. The room was a good size, the bed comfortable. It was close to so many little shops that were in walking distance and then easy to drive elsewhere in town. We appreciated the breakfast coupon for the bakery across the street....yummy!
