I picked this lodging off Expedia after seeing great reviews and images. It was even better in person! Staff was totally welcoming and helpful. The rooms are vintage knotty pine with spacious balcony accessible from living room and bedroom. The property is nestled in tall Pine trees walk b distance to beach and downtown. The Heavenly Gondola is a fun 5 min walk away which is an incredible experience. Plenty of food options and shops within walking distance. Really a fun place to stay!

I am so disappointed in this resort, I really wanted to stay here for future stays mainly because of the location and the pool and hot tubs were perfect for kids. But please! Stay away! The front desk is unprofessional and passive aggressive. After checkout they attempted to charge my card at least 4 times in 24hours until I had them blocked through my bank. They refused to answer calls, or call back. I left voicemails and they were ignored. Today has been a week since our stay and I attempted to call again to clear the air and find out why it is that they continued to charge my card without responding as to why and the front desk manager was Extremely passive aggressive during the phone call. She claims I was charged $160 because I did not return pool towels to the front desk although they were left right inside the room. I explained that to her and she said it does not matter the pool towels need to be brought back to the front desk. And because my charge did not go through, and because of my “angry” voicemails I am now on their do not rent to list. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that you can charge somebody for something that was left in the room and then not answer phone calls regarding this unauthorized charge and not return voicemails then to be put on a do not rent to list without my knowledge. She then hung up on me. Please avoid this scam of a business! Very unprofessional!

The pathetic experience with hatbox hotel whether you trust or not. The most 3rd class hotel I have seen. They gave us very small room adjacent to electric room and charged for full big room. They didn’t change any room even when I insisted. The people sitting on reception were illiterate to do anything. I will never recommend this hotel and the kind of hotels should should be banned from hotel business. Trust me, it’s NOT good. Find something better .
