Sequoia Riverfront Cabins

I only rated it a one because there is no zero, avoid like the plague. Much of the information is false; there is no internet; the grounds are a weed patch. The kitchen has no dish towels. The come-on from Booking.com (a Trip Advisor partner) was one room left at this special price. The special price was 3X a walk in or direct reservation. And Booking.com is domiciled in The Netherlands, out reach of the FTC. I will never book a room through Trip Advisor again . . .ever.

This place is the creepiest, most rundown place I’ve ever booked. I don’t know what is going on with this abandoned looking property but as soon as I walked around, I decided that there was no way I was spending the night there. If I was scared during the day of course I’m going to be really creeped out at night, and not in a fun way. First of all, it was extremely expensive and no one has taken care of the property at all. There were cobwebs all around the front door right when we got there and no host anywhere nearby to speak to. There were wobbly steps on the wooden deck that were partially rotten and falling off, and only one towel for four people in the bathroom. It was 100° inside the house and there was a yellowed wire hanging down from an old A/C unit. There was duct tape holding the sliding glass door on. There was a hole in the wall in the closet with a random sock and a dead bug on the floor. All of the couches and chairs seemed kind of grimy and nasty like I would not want to sit there because they did not seem clean enough. It kind of reminded me of being in a murder documentary or a place where people cook meth. The entire backyard is in total disrepair with leaves everywhere and nasty lawn furniture that looks like it is in dire need of a deep cleaning. This was one of the most depressing, scary places, and we decided that we didn’t feel comfortable so we left and they will not give me a refund, not even a partial refund. Please steer clear! Three rivers is not a very nice town, but I saw a lot of places that were a lot better than this.

Beautiful and serene. Right on the river. Loved seeing the animals- lots of birds, ducks, and a big buck was eating outside the door in the morning when we got up. Very peaceful. Clean and simple. We look forward to coming back and will book again.
