Amazing location. A herd of around 100 elk went through each day through car park to back of hotel and lazed in pond at back. It was amazing sight to see all for free. To observe how they just grazed watched over by bull elk. Great location can pick up the river walk into town (10 min walk). Peaceful & great views if you choose mountain view. It sits on edge of golf course where the elk invade & sit themselves down.

Unfortunately, our experience at Discovery Lodge Estes Park was really disappointing. 😕 The service was poor, and the rooms looked absolutely nothing like the pictures online. They were much older, more worn out, and had significantly fewer amenities than advertised. 🏨 Another major issue was the breakfast. It only starts at 7:00 AM, which is far too late if you're staying there to visit Rocky Mountain National Park. Most people want to leave early to get into the park, so we weren't able to use the breakfast at all. 🥐☕️ But the worst part happened after we checked out. We accidentally left some things in our room and came back the same afternoon to pick them up. Unfortunately, not only had some of our belongings been thrown away, but one of the housekeepers had apparently helped herself to the chocolate we had brought as souvenirs. 🍫 We had 6 chocolate bars, and when we returned, only 4 were left. That is completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. We understand that mistakes can happen, but throwing away guests' belongings and taking their personal items is simply not okay. 😡 Overall, the combination of the poor service, outdated rooms, misleading pictures, inconvenient breakfast hours, and the incident with our belongings made this a very disappointing stay. Definitely not worth the money, and we would not recommend staying here.

Great location and views from the upper deck room we had with a great balcony with chairs. Friendly staff . Easy parking. Room was basic with no glasses , no nightstands , and the room needed to have an ozone generator parked in it for 30 mins to remove musty odor ! With that , we only sleep there and we would stay again
