Ski Time Square Condominiums

I wanted to share this so that anyone booking here takes a little extra time to decide. Hope this helps! To our fellow travelers who like condominiums but want it to be clean and well kept, regardless of the age of the building. This was a $400 per night experience. Steamboat Springs has an "at the base" area, a "new base area with a pedestrian gondola" and the "old town." This is at the base, meaning right where the ski gondolas are located. This is not ski in/out. It is a short walk to the gondola. We stayed 3 nights. Jan 26-29, 2026. 2 people. 1 bedroom, 1 bath. We had unit 416. 4th floor. Our unit is managed by Nomadness. They advertise it under a different number so it is confusing but you must know this, if you are checking on this particular unit. This is a far corner unit with amazing views and very private. I loved this part! But, very, very dated. A few things had been updated, so not really falling apart, but not wonderful. Upon arrival the unit seemed clean, like what you would expect in an old building but it did have kind of a funny smell. Just saying... I think, ?? all the units are individually owned. The building itself is very, very dated so make sure you do your homework on each unit carefully. I think that each unit has a unique property management company verses it being a hotel-like condominium where the experience is similar, no matter what unit. I am not 100 percent sure on this, so double check, if it is important to you. These units are not convenient from the parking lot to the unit, as the elevator is not INSIDE a parking garage with a luggage cart. The parking lot is private, but outside and there is no luggage cart. Please know that before you decide, because it took us 5 trips up many stairs and down many outdoor hallways to get to our unit. Location: walk to the Gondola base. Convenient but not ski in and out. They do have ski lockers but our key did not work so we had to lock our skis in our car and get them from the parking lot each day. This was most likely, just our unit. Parking is private and free but it is an outside lot. The parking lot itself is far from the unit that we stayed in. Regardless of what unit you have, you will be hauling your gear up two flights of outside stairs, down a long outdoor sidewalk to a separate mini lobby per building, up another flight of stairs to a very small elevator. Unless you are in a ground floor unit. From there we had another long outdoor hallway. Positive notes: These are all outdoor hallways so it gives a more private feel, especially if you are on the end like we were, but it takes a lot to get there! Atmosphere: The building itself is what you would expect for units built in the 70's, ?? A little funky and the hot tubs etc are not wonderful. Old time ski atmosphere with good access to ski or hike/bike but nothing fancy. Rooms: We had a one bedroom, one bathroom with a kitchen. Our unit had an awesome balcony with furniture and great views. The furniture inside the unit itself was mid-century modern-ish. Our unit was advertised for 4 people. I would not put 4 people in there as the bed in the bedroom is a queen but only a small ish futon in the living room. Also there is no closet/ drawers or any space for things for the people "living and sleeping" on the futon. ie) no hall coat closet or any shelves in main area. Just a few coat hooks. On a positive note, the living area is pretty big so you could just pile stuff up and still have room. For seating we only had the futon which was not that comfortable to use as a couch, one arm chair and a dining table with six chairs. Not great for lounging. It did have a great gas fireplace and two TV's ( one in the bedroom) that work with streaming etc. The kitchen was small but ok if you are not cooking a lot. The noise level was fine. It was peaceful. Again, the location was really, really good! Note, for summer there is no air conditioning. The cleanliness seemed good at first but after a few days a few things came up. When I went to make pasta, I looked for a fry pan and two of them had dried food on them. The cabinet kinda smelled. I washed them and continued but when I got out the big pot for pasta water, I ran a paper towel around the inside before adding water, and the paper towel came out orange. Ick! At that point, I wasn't trusting that most of the pots etc were very "clean". Then there were the hot pads that were absolutely caked with old food on them, both sides. And a few, (I did not check all), of the pillows had big stains on them (under the linens) and the blankets also had stains. So this unit needs some new pillows and blankets, and a deep clean. The bath is old and very dated . After brushing my teeth and washing my face the water was full in the sink and it was not draining. It eventually did drain or we would have called management. The tub is old with a slider door and no bath mat for inside the tub, provided so a little tricky to get in and out of. Old tile floors make it slippery. Great water pressure though. Clean bath towels and wash cloths were provided. We did not have any body wash or soap in the unit, but there were travel size bottles of lotion, shampoo and conditioner. Just a note here: I did not let the management company know, (Nomadness) about the dirty pans, pillows and things, until I got home because we were trying to ski and enjoy our time and each concern came up at different times. So to be fair, they did not have the opportunity to fix it while we were there. As far as the body wash, we were a last minute booking due to pipes freezing at our other lodging option. This unit #416, was not a unit I had picked originally, ( I had picked the old victorian house under the gondola by an individual owner VRBO and NoMadness helps her with maintenance) but they accommodated us quickly since we had no place to go. Their customer service team was amazing that night, so thank you to Nomadness for making sure we had a place to go. According to this management team, they did not have the chance to do their final walk through before we checked in. Not sure if this would have made a difference in the pots, pans, gross hot pads and pillow /blanket situation or not. At $400 per night, I expect all pillows and blankets to be cleaned and sanitized, reviewed and replaced without, me, as the guest, pointing it out. This management company did help us out with an emergency situation and did offer a 10 percent discount when we had to move due to frozen pipes. I did ask for compensation for our "dirty experience" in this unit but was told no, since we had already been given a discount when we had to move. I am not sure that the two things are related and we should not have to deal with a unit that is dirty just because we were given a discount for frozen pipes and we were a last minute move and they were "helping us out." That being said, all of my concerns were heard but not much responsibility was taken for the bigger picture which is, I am now, not trusting that the units being managed by this team are being examined for the things I mentioned. Generally clean on the surface, but yuck underneath. I am going to share a few pics of the pillows and hot pads just so I am clear about what I think is "dirty". If you are looking for a good walk to gondola base location, a condo with a kitchen, privacy and not many fancy amenities, this is good. I kinda liked that it is a true old town ski experience feel and , had it not been for the grime, I think I would have given a different review. Just double check the exact unit prior to booking. You can't get much closer unless you book a "true ski in and out unit". The views are amazing! The price point for this unit with our discount, taxes and all was about $400 plus per night.

Location and Mountain Resorts is great. Unit is outdated and lacks comfort. Minimal and cheap utensils in the kitchen. An old 32” tv is too small for the space. Duct tape holds the batteries in the remote for reference. 3M office hooks in bathroom are the bath towel hooks. And the bed is not that comfortable. Location is nice though.

Very nice condo, parking lot was under construction so parking was complicated. Cleaning service was excellent. Construction noise was hard to avoid.
