My husband was there for a conference, so my son and I came along although I swore I would never return to this Gaylord hotel as we had a horrible experience the last time. This time was even worse. The room they gave us is TINY we asked for two beds (one for our son) the beds were full size or twin because my husband and I could barely sleep on it. Also housekeeping must have stolen my sons stuffy that a family member gave to him from Atlanta GA and he was very attached to it. Upon discovering this I went to the front desk to report that housekeeping took my sons stuffy and also had LEFT OUR ROOM DOOR OPEN ALL DAY! My husband discovered upon returning from his conference that our room door was left open with the lock open so it was unable to close. Front desk did NOTHING about the door being left open didn’t even apologize. Then when I discovered our sons stuffy was missing I went to the front desk to report that his stuffy disappeared after housekeeping cleaned our room and left our door open and again NOTHING! I know it’s just a stuffy but, he was attached to it and also we were robbed but, they did absolutely NOTHING about it or even apologized. Took our son to the pool the next day and the water was murky it was DISGUSTING! I would not let him go in the pool that’s how dirty the water was. There was also a young couple in the pool making out and fondling each other and the life guard did absolutely nothing to break that up. Unfortunately we are having to stay in this horrible hotel for a week with nothing to do because we can’t even use the pool and I’m afraid to allow housekeeping into our room as they are allowed to steal and not be reprimanded. This trip has been a complete nightmare ruined my son and I’s vacation. The restaurants are SO OVER PRICED and the food is AWFUL! I finally took my son to Old Town which is 2 miles away and it’s BEAUTIFUL with tons of GREAT restaurants. I wish we had stayed at one of the hotels there instead of the Gaylord National Harbor. If you’re looking for a place to stay do not stay at the Gaylord.

I debated whether to leave this review because, overall, the hotel is very nice. However, I was genuinely surprised and disappointed by how a simple request for emergency menstrual products was handled. I am staying at the Gaylord from Sunday, August 2, through Thursday, August 6, for a work conference. After traveling across the country, I unexpectedly started my period and called the front desk to ask whether the hotel had an emergency sanitary pad or tampon available. After being placed on hold and transferred to a manager, I was informed that the hotel no longer provides menstrual products and that I would need to purchase them from the hotel shop. Unfortunately, the shop was closing in just a few minutes, making that option unavailable. The only other recommendation was to visit a nearby CVS, which wasn't a practical solution given that I was away from home without transportation. To her credit, the manager ultimately arranged for a housekeeper to provide me with a single pad, and I appreciate that effort. My disappointment isn't with the employee—it is with the hotel's policy. For a hotel of this caliber that hosts large conferences and charges premium rates, I find it surprising that complimentary emergency menstrual products are not readily available. My organization has invested hundreds of dollars for me to attend this conference, and having access to a single emergency pad or tampon seems like a basic guest amenity. I hope the hotel reconsiders this policy so future guests don't find themselves in the same situation.

Our 5-day stay at this large waterfront property in National Harbor was both pleasant and enjoyable. The hotel is conveniently located just a five-minute walk from the National Harbor military statues and the many restaurants and shops in the Marketplace. Our room on the 10th floor offered panoramic views of the waterfront, including the Capital Wheel and the main promenade. It was spacious, well-lit, clean, and featured a very comfortable bed. The only drawback was the bathroom (see attached photo), which was unusually small and narrow. The cramped shower area made it very inconvenient to use, and I even ended up bumping my elbow a few times. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money and is a great choice for both family vacations and business travel.
