BTW Marriott bought them out. It's now City Express by Marriott. Not good. They charged about $24 per day for parking and I could really see no reason for this except a money grab. What do I get for the parking fee? Nothing. the lot isn't even secure and anyone can just walk in off the street. Then they have this sign (see pic) telling me they're not responsible if anything happens, but ok, take my money. To make matters worse, they double charged me for parking. Called them every week and was promised a refund and an email confirmation of the refund. 15 days later have received neither. If you stay here look closely at your final bill! This is a newly renovated hotel. Don't let this fool you, there's still a cheap hotel under that paint! bathroom was still dirty (see pic) and the door had such a gap at the bottom someone could definitely see in if they put their face to the ground. You can put makeup on a pig, but it's still a pig. Service (sigh) I ordered a pizza. Called downstairs to let them know if this was ok. When the pizza arrived, no one called to let me know. Room number was on the delivery receipt and everything. I know they don't have to and it's "Not Their Job" but it was a simple courtesy that should have been extended. Earn that parking fee! They just let the pizza stay sitting in the lobby (where anyone could walk in off the street) Just shows they really don't care about their customers. I'm really disappointed that this is a Marriott run hotel.

My experience was terrible Antoinette was very rude along with the older lady that checked me in, construction was being done early in the morning and I was not told the lady at the desk was telling me that I should of read the board, after being out all I wanted to do was check in her approach was very nasty, the didn’t have a market place the night agent was very sweet on explaining, TV didn’t work the whole experience was TERRIBLE I will never use this hotel again, nor would I recommend. They need better guest service agents

Hotel Arboretum-Washington DC This was the worst and most unsafe hotel experience I have ever encountered. Upon arrival, the neighborhood felt unsafe with suspicious men loitering and a strong odor of marijuana around the property. Inside, the entire hotel smelled of marijuana, and there was construction debris and sheetrock dust throughout the halls and elevator. Our room refrigerator contained a dead cockroach and was not working. Despite reporting it to the front desk, no one responded for nearly two hours. When the fridge was replaced, our personal belongings had clearly been moved while we were out. The new fridge froze all items solid overnight. Throughout our stay, we saw construction workers smoking marijuana in the lobby, trash and leftover food from the breakfast buffet scattered across the parking lot, and another cockroach appeared in our bathroom. We also witnessed police activity outside, and it became clear that long-term or Section 8 residents were living at the hotel. The property manager later admitted that the hotel was undergoing “renovations” but provided no apology or solution. We were unable to relocate due to the Marine Corps Marathon filling nearby hotels, otherwise we would have left immediately. The online photos and descriptions are completely misleading, and the property is unsafe, unclean, and misrepresented.
