Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington DC

We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely hotel for 10 nights back in December. It was at a convenient locaiton -- walking distance to a small Whole Foods and restaurants. The metro (McPherson) would have been walkable but we took Uber daily due to the cold weather. The one-way rides to attractions were all within $15 or so. Their two-bed suites apparently face the other rooms' windows, hence we did not open the curtain for 10 days. Our suite at the end of the hall way was quiet. The furniture and appliances were dated, but usable. I was happy that their stainless pots were clean and somewhat new. The room and bathroom were clean. The laundry room had three working dryers and washers when we were there. Sometimes there was a little wait, but manageale, as the wash and dry times were rather short. Since the dry time was short, I had to do two dry cycles for each load. The breakfast was very good with an assortment of hot and cold items, but super crowded while we were there during the Christmas break. Everyday there was a line between 8:30am-9am. Everyday there were items ran out way before the closing time -- some were replenished, but sometimes, there simply ran out. The hotel graciously opened an overflow room, but some days both the breakfast area and overflow room were full. I observed that all breakfast staff worked really hard to meet the high demand. The breakfast staff were always so pleasant and friendly during those action-packed breakfast hours. As well, the housekeeping, maintenance, and the doorman/valet always carried a smile and greeted us daily. We wished the front desk staff were a bit more personable. I especially wanted to thank Cathy in the mailroom for finding a small item that I left behind and mailing it back to me.

Great stay and experience. Not impressed with breakfast.cheap fruits. Suggest omelet station better quality.

the room is good, however the Service around is very disappointing: a room for 3 with 2 spaces and a real kitchen with a fridge, a lavomatic on the ground floor next to the fitness room. For the negative, the best example: breakfast: at 8am more bread, at 8:30am they start tidying up at 8:45am it is almost empty, this while there is a crowd at 8:15am and it is literally impossible to find a place to sit. cleaning the room every other day. The hotel parking for 2 nights: 135$
