Inn at Dupont Circle

DO NOT STAY HERE! The toilet broke regularly and the owner blamed it on guests instead of doing anything to fix it. There were cockroaches in our bedroom. There was one smoke detector in the whole building, on the first floor, which means if a fire started anywhere else, good luck! Live electrical wires stuck out of the walls in rooms with no smoke detectors, so if something caught on fire nobody would know. Worst of all, the owner chose to demean me as a guest when I brought up the broken toilet to her, insulting me and bullying me. I didn't even report the cockroaches or smoke detectors until the end of my stay because her negativity combined with her unsafe property was ruining my trip. If this is the only option available for you in DC, sleep in your car. It'd be cleaner and safer than this place was. I would give it zero stars if that was possible, I guess I can rationalize the one star by saying the location was good.

If you are looking for a creepy haunted hotel experience, this is the place. It feels like your staying at a dead relatives home. The room was definitely not worth the price, it smells like old house, potpourri and cigarettes, the rooms are hot, And the worlds worst community bathroom. I actually dreaded staying there by myself. The only person that was available, didn’t speak a lick of English. I actually caught her in my room looking for something but then she acted like she was dusting when she saw me. Gladly, I didn’t leave my important items in the room. I couldn’t even experienced the backyard, it was dead bolt locked shut. I would not recommend this Bed and Breakfast to my worst enemy.

What a disappointment. Good location, but none of the amenities and attention that you expect from a bed and breakfast. Yes, there was a bed. But as to breakfast, the muffins set out on the dining room table were wrapped in cellophane. There was a coffee pot on the sideboard, but no instructions. And the owner is an absentee owner, so the guests are on their own. Even just putting a coffee pot in every room, so that guests could make their own coffee in the morning, would improve things. Never again.
