The Windsor Inn

The location was good. Rooms were tiny, very outdated, and beds were uncomfortable. The showers were extremely small and they only have shampoo and a bar of facial soap. Apparently it’s because it’s a “conditioning shampoo” so there’s no need for anything else. Our room was given to someone else last minute and we were stuck with a room we did not pay for nor want. The man in the front didn’t tell us this when he gave us the room key. It wasn’t until I came downstairs to ask if the could give us the right key that he said he gave it to someone else. This is a terrible establishment, this is basically a Washington DC motel. You get what you pay for, and it’s definitely not good service or your room.

The only positive aspect of this property is its location. Based on the photos, it appeared to be a decent place to stay, but unfortunately, that was far from the reality. Upon check-in, the condition of the room was unacceptable. There was visible mold, cracked walls, chipped and poorly maintained paint, and carpets that appeared not to have been cleaned in years. The overall cleanliness and upkeep were extremely disappointing. We requested to speak with a manager, only to be told they were on vacation and unavailable. Despite providing clear evidence of the issues, our request for a refund was ultimately denied by management. The staff on-site were unable to assist in any meaningful way—they could not process a refund or offer a solution, and appeared limited to basic check-in and check-out duties. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience, and I would not recommend staying here. ***Please do not sign anything they charge you a safety deposit when you get there*** I needed safety from this place.

Avoid at all costs. The hotel is in a nice quiet neighborhood, which is definitely a plus. The building does have an old charm to it, but that fades the moment you walk in the lobby. It's understandable for an old building to have its cracks and blemishes. This building is way beyond that. I checked in for what was supposed to be a week long stay and decided to check out after one hour in the room. The only updated feature in our room was the shower that seems to have been remodeled recently. Everything else in the room was ancient. The a/c unit looked like it was about to fall out of the window. The TV remote was greasy, and the rug had paint splotches all over it. The bed had a cigarette hole in the sheet, plus stains on the pillow case. The unforgivable sin here was the black mold growing from the wall and ceiling of the room. If I could give this less than one star I would.
