Chateaubleau Hotel

Having traveled all over the world, this was the worst experience I have ever encountered.. I was charged $315 dollars for one night. The room left a lot to be desired because it was filthy The place itself was filthy. Nothing worked properly. The sheets were dirty. There was hair in the shower tray. Faucets did not work properly and there was no plug in the basin. The phone did not work. The stairwell was filthy. The young man on reception seemed out of his depth when addressing other complaints. There was only one portion of coffee each. Breakfast was not included. The manager was not available. I left my number and asked him to contact me, he failed to do so. I reported my experience to the BBB in Florida and eventually received a reply from the owner. He went to great lengths in explaining what he was going to do, to address the problem. I asked for a refund, which he declined. However, he did ask for me to get in touch with him and talk about the problems my wife and I had experienced. I called the hotel and asked to speak with him on several occasions and was told he was on vacation which was not true, He was in a meeting and he would call me back. I called again and he had left for the day and to call back at 9am the following day. I did so and was told he would not be in until 11am. I called again and was told he was somewhere in the hotel and not answering his telephone. I actually spoke with the manager who assured me he would get the owner to call me back. He never did. His unprofessionalism was unbelieveable and certainly left a lot to be desired. I could understand why the hotel was in such a poor state with such derelict management I wrote to the BBB again and appraised them of my experience with the owner. I am sure if the local Health and Safety department carried out an inspection of the said hotel they would find it contravened numerous rules and regulations.

The dirtyest hotel we've ever visited. The room on the 3rd floor and the hallway would have been closed by the authorities if this had been in Norway. We'll pick something else next time. Ace and Ace.
