Everybody in Delray seems to know The Grove.
According to Dixie, who’s lived here since 1992 and is the place’s unofficial mayor/historian, it was built in the 1950s to house a Mr. Grimes’ of Columbus, Ohio’s, workers for the summer. His executives lived next door, in grander, tile-roofed homes.
We were lucky enough to find a 1-bedroom Airbnb here—steps from W. Atlantic Ave., the beach, and countless restaurants. The grounds are nicely landscaped with lots of outdoor seating, and there’s an old, but clean and heated, Olympic-size pool. (Grimes’ workers were lucky dudes!).
Many condos here are renovated like this one.
