Village Inn Destin

We stayed here because its across the street from the fishing boats. We had a very good and comfortable stay. great value for a place to sleep. Beds very confortable and clean. Staff is super friendly. Will stay there again on next fishing trip.

A quick trip to Destin but I made the mistake of accidentally picking a smoking room and I am not a smoker. BIG oops. When they say smoking, they mean it. However, you can get febreze and spray it on the cloths and it takes the smell down a lot. Had to do that since there were no non-smoking rooms available and we were spent. It worked out ok, just make sure you pick the right room. The room itself was fine otherwise. Not bad, not great, middle of the road. For a quick nights sleep, it works. For a vacation, maybe ok if you don't spend a lot of time in the room. Pool area had plenty of people having a good time. Location is excellent if you like being near the harbor area. Excellent for that.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. When I checked in, I specifically requested a room upstairs. The receptionist assured me that the room she assigned was upstairs. However, when I got there, I discovered it was actually downstairs, right next to the staircase. I went back to the front desk and politely asked if I could at least have a room farther away from the stairs. She declined, saying the hotel was fully booked unless I was willing to take a smoking room. Strangely, the hotel's website still showed rooms available. Not wanting to ruin my vacation, I accepted the room and went back. When I arrived, I found that the air conditioner outside my room was leaking, creating a large puddle of muddy water across the entrance. The area was dirty, unsightly, and difficult to access. I had to step through the muddy water just to get into the room. Thankfully, a maintenance worker brought me extra towels to lay over the puddle so I could walk into the room without stepping directly in the water. Later that day, after returning from an outing, we found a cockroach in the bathroom. At that point, I genuinely felt like they had intentionally given me the worst room in the hotel. I tried to cancel my reservation, but I would have been charged the full amount. Since I couldn't afford to lose that money, I had no choice but to stay. I honestly don't understand how this hotel has a 3.2-star rating. My son is now afraid to walk barefoot on the floor because of how dirty the room feels. This has been a terrible experience. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, and in my opinion, it isn't worth spending a dime on. See the attached photos.
