RED ROOF INN MIAMI AIRPORT

We purchased a Stay, Park & Cruise Package for $250 and was told this included the room, shuttle to the cruise and parking for the week. Upon check in we were told the Cruise Shuttle was available to pick us up at 11:30 although they do over book themselves so we "may" be able to get on it but it was not guaranteed and this was the last shuttle they would have for pick ups. I asked why did we purchase a package deal for a Stay, Park and Cruise including transportation to the cruise if it may not be available. The young guy at the front desk said the hotel does that a lot and it was up to us if we'd just rather take an uber and that was what a lot of others end up doing so not to miss the ship, especially with all of the Miami construction. We decided to do that even though we felt like we had already "paid" for the transportation to the port. Then going to our room was another experience. Old, musty smell, airplanes flying over was so loud, windows rattles, AC did not work, microwave door was broken, sheets were filthy. We just kept telling ourselves it was just for one night, we will get thru it. With no restaurants nearby we ate fruit we had brought with us, they said they have a food truck sometimes. Next morning, we ordered our Uber to go to the port and the front desk said they do not allow Ubers on their property we had to walk to the side closer to the other hotel. Also, they charge for a vending machine cup of coffee. They have nothing available for a hotel breakfast like most Red Roof Inn's we have stayed in besides vending machine coffee for $2.75 that only accepts quarters. Parking is in a gated area but it is first come first serve. We were lucky to get a decent parking spot so that is the only plus paying $250 for this dump. Upon check out the young man said we should file a complaint with our credit card about this since we actually did not get what we paid for. We are contacting the ParkSleepFly.com company we booked this thru.

Do not let the pictures deceive you. This place is a dive. We needed a one night stay before a cruise, they provided free parking while on the cruise and a free cruise shuttle. The price was $187, less than the other two listed on the Stay, park, cruise website. And now I know why. The first room the put us in was in the back building on the ground floor, room 134. The mildew smell was terrible, the room showed serious sign of a previous water issue. Somethings they fixed other things they did not., like wall plaster and flooring. We weren't in the room 5 minutes and someone tried to enter. We requested a differnt room. The desk guy didnt seem surprised. Gave us one on the second floor. Room was cleaner, smell was tolerable. Bedding seemed clean. We decided to stick it out, it was only a few hours. Then the issue of very loud neighbors and the marijuana smoke smell from people smoking in the hallway. The noisy elevators was another issue. The pool was closed due to "maintence" There is no place to eat within walking distance except the hotel next door that charges $10 for french fries or $28.50 for a hamburger meal. I was hesitant about leaving my suv there, hubby says...its insured. Not comforting, however it seems to be intact upon return. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is for the parking and shuttle convenience. If I wasn't with my husband I wouldnt of stayed.

We are only here for 1 night. It’s about 5 minutes from MIA airport. Check in was great. They have a restaurant that stay open to 1AM. We had the oven pizza and it was good. The pool looks big and clean. The room was clean. I will be back to stay when coming to Miami.
