The staff here is absolutely amazing and very friendly. Even the other guests are very friendly. It’s centrally located and a safe place for children. Would definitely recommend it.

I was traveling with my spouse and Children to Destin Florida from Crossville TN for a quick trip to the beach before summer sport mandatory practices start. The experience I had with the Destin FL location was unacceptable to say the least.
After reserving the room on Expedia we arrive at the location. The front desk was under the influence of something as he was slow to speak, react, and was unable to answer basic questions. He was also dirty, crust on his eyes and around his lips. None of this appeared to be a medical condition, but a life style. He gave me a price that was slightly higher than the booking reservation, I asked what the increase price was from he couldn’t answer, but responded with its only a couple dollars. I asked for a receipt in which he denied me and told me call my credit card company. I apologized thinking maybe I was making a deal out of the $2.14 addition, and offered an apology. He responded with “that’s why I asked you how your day was going.” I told him he didn’t ask me that and he said well everybody takes things differently. He was just looking for an issue.
But running out of day light and time with my family, I went to the room which was all the way around the back. We parked the car and was immediately met with the smell of dog poop. In the small rock area near the stairs was a large amount of dog poop old and new.
Entering the property(#245), it was immediately obvious the floors were not cleaned as there was stuff all over the floor to include big spots of sticky substance covered in dirt. I stopped to record. The floors were so bad that we had to take a towel, and use our feet to somewhat pick up the dirt. This turned your towel BLACK! The cutout of the shower was dusty and dirty. The floor trim in the bathroom was black and moldy with a hole in the wall. There bathroom sink faucet was loose and coming up off the sink. No soap bars, tissue, or WiFi provided.
Deciding to enjoy my time with my family, we left to the beach for a little while. Stopping by the surf style store located in the same property parking. Realizing I left my wallet, I went back to the room and my key wouldn’t work. So I had to go have him reprogram it. Went to the room and was able to get my stuff. After coming back from the beach, key would not work again. Had to go program it AGAIN. The floors were so dirty, at no point could we/would we walk barefoot or in our socks. The next morning, my husband went to get a coffee and when he came up his key card would not work. At this point my husband made the comment, I think he’s intentionally setting it to a one time use key card. This makes sense as each time they’ve only worked 1x each. We had to have him reprogram it atleast two additional times before check out.
Come time for check out, I went to the front desk where I waited and called out to speak to somebody. To only have it be the same guys who eventually came out. This day he did not appear to be under the influence, but looked clean and spoke politely to me. I asked for a receipt in which he was able to print for me . I acted as if I didn’t know I was speaking to the same guy and told him about the my check in process and how he refused to give me a receipt. He responded with “well maybe he couldn’t handle confrontation well”? Ummmmm, what? I asked for a receipt. He said maybe he didn’t know how to print it. At this point it was clear that we were not getting anywhere. I asked for the name of the individual who checked us in Friday night, he told me he could not legally give me his name but he was the manager and I could make any complaints to him. I asked if the cameras worked and he said no. I told them I really wished they did because of the behavior and demeanor of the male staff whose name was refused to me.
This experience caused so much stress, anxiety, and mental separation from being with my family. I would not recommend Motel 6 to anybody. We have never had this kind of experience out of a Motel 6 and I highly recommend you look into this, as this is unhealthy and fixable to your brand. Please feel free to reach out. Thank you.

I have stayed at this location twice in the past month due to affordability and being a Wyndham Rewards member. I'm generally pretty easy to please and don't require a lot of frills and such with a hotel. That being said, I've also worked about 6 years of my life at a well-known hotel chain and can recognize deficiencies in basic upkeep and presentation which is where this property has consistently fell short in both times I've stayed. On both occasions, there has been a light bulb burnt out. On the most recent visit, the outlet in the vanity area did not work at all...not even when doing a GFCI reset on the outlet. The room description boasts a desk as one of the room amenities. However, there was no desk or table (only the table chairs) in the room this time (there was a small round table on previous stay). I found myself eating at the bathroom vanity with no table or desk to sit at. First time I stayed (in a non-smoking room), there was a clear smell of smoke in the room and the inside door handle easily pulled off when pulling to open the door. So, I feel these things were worth pointing out to those who it may (or may not) concern to hopefully be addressed going forward. Unless something with standards improves considerably with this property, I will be gladly be paying the extra to stay at another property in the area from here on such as the LaQuinta Inn and Suites down the street which I've been staying at before they started doing $100 deposits and the rates shot up. I've never experienced any of these maintenance or general quality issues with them.
