Econolodge South Point Jacksonville

There seems to be a serious problem with these people, and mostly people from India owned these hotels. Now they are nice. Some of them, but the first room they gave me, they set me in the midst of men and I didn't feel comfortable, I'll pull around, trying to find my room And there it is a guy sitting outside of his room door open shirt off, just chillaxing then there's a white Van with 2 more men in it. Okay. So I have to go past this as I go back-and-forth to my car to retrieve things that I need unacceptable, so after I went and got something to eat, I came back. I told the staff that I didn't like that room that I had, so they moved me to a nother room, which the bed is lopsided, they need a new mattress mowed on the ceilings in the bathroom. The refrigerator is rusted out on the inside and out. I did not enjoy the stay for the monies that I paid

When booking this hotel, it showed it having a hot breakfast and what appeared to be really nice rooms. Well, nice enough for what we were needing it for, which was a place to wash the sand and saltwater off and a bed to sleep in. Upon arrival, I asked the receptionist if there would be breakfast, he told me they only had coffee. Okay, cool, I will buy breakfast elsewhere. I got my key card and proceeded to the back where my room was, immediately my kids and I felt unsafe, luckily I had my gun with me so I kept it close. Opening the door to our room my first impression was that it was not well kept nor was it clean. I had my kids stay away from the beds until I could thoroughly check for bed bugs, and was thankful that there were none. I'm a housekeeper and I was appalled at the lack of cleanliness, the floors were disgusting, the refrigerator looks as if it hadn't been cleaned in months, go to take a shower and it, too, was filthy. I had to clean it before I could put my son in it. I refused to allow my kids to touch anything, I even had to wrap the remote in baby wipes because it was disgusting. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone! I already knew from past reviews that I would not receive a refund so I got through the night and left as soon as my kids and I were up and dressed.

From the filthy room and bathroom to the shady way they stole money from myself and multiple other patrons this weekend they should be shut down. I’m trying to figure a way to give them negative stars on the review . We prepaid 2 rooms , they made us pay for another one at a higher rate the night we got there and offered no resolution other than telling me it was my fault . They were right it was . I chose to stay there but will not again . Multiple customers in the lobby were furious about being over charged . The staff is rude as well . Probably my worst experience ever at a hotel
