We paid $250 for the room in advance . A week or so later there was an $83 charge on our credit card. We called and was told they would check it out. Jay told us that their system charged us in error and he would check with the owner for a refund. We didn’t hear back so we called again and we’re told they don’t issue any refunds. It wasn’t refund. It was a mistake on their endand I don't understand why they charged our card $83 when we had previously paid $250 for the room. We have been going there for 10 years and we will never go back.

Crane Room – Overpromised and Underdelivered Unfortunately, our stay at the Crane Room did not live up to the expectations set by its website. The property is described as a luxury experience, but that was not our impression at all. The on-site restaurant does not offer breakfast, and it certainly didn’t feel like the romantic dinner destination it’s portrayed to be. Upon arrival, the room felt very “bare bones.” There was no welcome information or guide to the hotel, no extra roll of toilet paper, and the kitchenette was missing basic essentials such as knives, a spatula, dish soap, and dish towels. For an efficiency suite, this was especially disappointing. When we raised concerns about issues like the noisy vent, broken coffeemaker, and a closet door, the response was minimal and not particularly helpful. Housekeeping was also lacking — toilet paper and towels were not adequately replenished, the soap and shampoo dispensers were dirty and unlabeled, and the floors did not appear to have been properly swept. The common areas felt like a treasure hunt, as there was no clear information about the room, services, or available equipment. Even the sun deck, which could have been a highlight, appeared poorly maintained, with exposed wires and general upkeep concerns. There were also noticeable maintenance issues throughout the property — paper towels stuffed into holes, pictures sitting on the floor, and visible damage to flooring. Our room itself was dark and noisy, making it difficult to relax. On our last night around 11:30 p.m., we were startled awake by workers using power equipment on the roof. It was extremely disruptive and frustrating. It seemed as though there was either no communication between the building owners and the hotel operator, or simply a general lack of concern for hotel guests. Overall, the low occupancy we observed during our six days may reflect these shortcomings. While it might be acceptable as a very basic hotel room, the efficiency suite did not offer good value for the price. We left feeling disappointed and that the property significantly overpromised and underdelivered.

The room was nice, but not enough staff. They expect the check in staff to be the bell hops too! Besides that the hotel was pleasant, except also for heavy wood doors that slam first thing in the morning! Also, the only staff that didn't care about the occupants was the cleaning staff! The door to their supply closet slammed about 40 times from 8AM on. Is that supposed to be our wake up call?
