Doubletree Grand Key

With plans to go on the Seaplane Adventure, we chose this hotel since it was near the airport. Shuttle service was greatly appreciated, although we had to take a taxi for to the Seaplane office...and that was fine, not very expensive as it was a 5 minute ride! The hotel was comfortable, food was great and the pool refreshing.

I would come back to this resort just to have the bar tender Billy The Greek serve us drinks. He was the most kind and pure soul we met in this island. If we could hire a bartender full time to follow us around it would be him. He could make drinks from just a short description of things we liked and preferences. They were all perfectly delicious balanced and he mixed timely. Very wise soul we are grateful to have met. This hotel is lucky to have him.

Watch out for the automatic smoking charge, they claim to have a “system” that detects smoking but it’s obviously BS because they won’t show any proof when you ask to remove the fake charge, they then treated me very poorly at the front desk when I demanded that it be removed. Then a few hours later they tried to charge be the fake fee AGAIN after apologizing and removing it the first time. Never coming back
