Weatherstation Inn

Lovely place to stay. They have parking onsite which is terrific. Our room was on the first floor and it worked out great. The pool was super small and due to crazy hot weather it was very warm so we skipped it. Allen was very helpful at the front desk if we needed anything. As we got there after 4 we had to check in down the block at The Opal Hotel. No biggie. The breakfast they offer is fine. Chobani yogurt, packaged fruit cups, a toaster for a bagel or different flavored croissants. The almond ones were great. Coffee of course and some juice options. You take what you want on a tray into your room or by the pool. It’s fine. If you want a real breakfast there are loads of places to choice from. Stay here for the amazing locations en comfortable beds.

The good: locatino, location, parking! Convenient location to downtown Kew West. Easy walk to Mallory and Duval. Nice breakfast. Secure area as gates to the private area are locked to cars and passengers. Air conditioning was great and even had a dehumidifier in the room. Even included slippers. That's about where the good ends. We were hounded via messages and texts as to our arrival time. Felt like they were waiting to go home based on our arrival. The property is historic so you need to remember that. The room was large but lacked amenities. No fridge, no microwave, not even a luggage tray to rest your bags on. Stairs! Be prepared to climb stairs. 30 of them for the second floor. No, no elevator. Metal keys, no digital locks. The guest before you could have copied the key and can now access your room. No security. Finally, if all that was not enough, we checked in just fine. Host forgot to tell us they had no hot water. None. For 24 hours. Whe we checked out, after cold showers, no offer of compensation. Nothing but a sorry. Please recognize that this is not a BnB. It is a corporate hotel. An upscale corporate hotel at that. Would we stay again? Nope. Nothing but a corporate shill property.

Last minute trip to Key West with friends and found this quaint, beautiful B&B in the best location in Truman Annex. We were able to walk to Mallory Square, Hemingway House and Duval Street in 10-15 minutes. Our rooms (and yes, rooms with an s because we decided to stay an extra night) were comfortable and clean - staying on first floor night one and second floor night two. There are steps to second floor but the trade off is a balcony where we enjoyed our lovely continental breakfast. The property manager, Jen and her assistant, Kimberly, were two of the most helpful and gracious ladies I’ve ever met. Their knowledge of Key West as concierge and Jen’s experience as a long time local was very beneficial in assisting us with how we planned our day.
