Days Inn - Lake City

I arrived at this property at 3:00 AM after a 13-hour drive with my family and 16-month-old toddler. What I encountered was not just poor service, but a legitimate security risk. Upon entering the lobby, I found the only staff member on duty sleeping on the floor. Even more alarming, there was an unauthorized individual (a friend of the staff member?) also sleeping on the floor in the lobby area. As a parent traveling with a young child in the middle of the night, finding unidentified people sleeping in restricted areas felt incredibly threatening and unsafe. It took nearly 30 minutes for the hostile staff member to complete a simple check-in, after trying to deny my legal, state issuesld ID document. Once we finally got to the room (for which I was overcharged compared to my Booking.com confirmation), the conditions were disgusting. Both headboards were covered in large, visible stains. The caulking in the sink drain was peeling out, and the furniture was all scuffed and scratched up. The 'Free Breakfast' advertised was nonexistent—only a pot of coffee was provided. We felt so uncomfortable and the room was so unsanitary that we vacated the property after only 3 hours. Choice Hotels Corporate has already been notified and has flagged this as a formal safety concern. PARENTS: DO NOT STAY HERE. The lack of security and professional standards is a danger to guests.

Not the best experience here..... washer and driers are out side in a hallway that had a garbage smell. The staff was friendly but the rooms did not measure up. The place needs some upgrading though the bed was comfortable. There were patches in the walls in the bathroom, which is not terrible but it was left unfinished and this attention to unfinished detail was throughout the hotel. Breakfast was Little Debbie cakes and coffee from a home type coffee pot . Could have found a better place for the price or paid just a little more and went somewhere else to stay. Definitely not the cleanest and I was uncomfortable the whole night wondering if I was going to get bit by some insect , though I didn't see any and did not sleep well. I wont be back to this hotel.

Absolutely DISGUSTING. Filthiest place I have ever stayed. Could not wait to get out of there in the morning (used my own comforter and bare feet were not going to touch that floor). Chewing gum from previous occupant left on lamp. I took some wipes to the floor and the result was dark brown. There was a line and I had to get going. I called Mr Patel the next day and he admonished me for not complaining while there. Said he would call me back about a partial refund and what a surprise, he never did. I know I am sharing this late . . . . hoping I would feel better about this experience.
