Staybridge Suites Miami Doral Area Hotel

Anytime my brother books a hotel that I’ve never stayed at, I always check the reviews on trip advisor (4.1). Lately, I’ve also added looking up on google reviews to see what their rating is (3.8). First of all, the Staybridge Suites, Miami Doral is a great location. Located just off SW 87th Ave, behind a Millers Ale House and a Holiday Inn Express. During heavy traffic peak hours, entering or exiting to the hotel, is a test in patience. This is a very busy location and parking at night can also be problematic. The hotel had perhaps the best breakfast I have experienced in a long time. This was not your standard or basic breakfast options like the cold bagels or waffle maker. Three different hot dishes, fresh fruit, in addition to the standard continental choices. Staying at a Suites hotel usually will have more spacious rooms, since they would include a small kitchenette and sometimes the bedroom is separated from the rest of the room. And Staybridge is no different. The hotel was in the final process of replacing the beds, which were pretty comfy. Something that I have never seen before is, the washing machines and the gym are in the same room/area, which is brilliant. You can have a workout while waiting for your laundry. This hotel includes an evening social on Mon, Tues, Wed, with complimentary beer and wine. This reminded me a little of Hilton’s Embassy Suites with their evening social. Actually, the light bites offering was pretty good. This hotel also had a very guest friendly pantry of drinks and snacks. Most of the hotels charge double or sometimes triple the price and I get it. You’re paying for the convenience. But geez! Don’t break my travel budget either. And y’know, I have to check the stairwells and they were clean. The staff was professional and friendly. Now the bad part of this review. Previous reviews stated there were roaches at the hotel. And I was looking forward to writing that I did not experience any roaches until we did. On our checkout morning, one pretty big one did appear in our room (sigh).,, The front desk was notified and Felix (front desk clerk) handled our complaint in a very professional manner. Will we consider returning to this hotel? Absolutely. Even with our roach encounter.

Cucarachas en la habitación. El estado limpieza es pésimo, la ropa de cama terrible, manchada o sucia. Los colchones no son nada confortables. El baño sucio, percudido, fatal. El aire es un ruido fuertisimo El personal de recepción amable pero no resuelven nada, ninguna solicitud nuestra, fue resuelta (toallas que faltaban, aseo en la habitación, etc) El desayuno incluido, deja mucho que desear: alimentos fríos, las mesas sucias, el personal de servicio no es nada atento. En general, es un hotel de carretera con poco o nada de servicio y atención al cliente y las instalaciones son viejas. Cockroaches in the room. The state of cleanliness is terrible, the bed linen terrible, stained or dirty. The mattresses are not comfortable at all. The bathroom is dirty, percud, fatal. The air is a very loud noise The reception staff was friendly but they didn't solve anything, none of our requests was resolved (towels that were missing, toilet in the room, etc.) The breakfast included, leaves a lot to be desired: cold food, dirty tables, the service staff is not at all attentive. In general, it is a roadside hotel with little or no service and customer service and the facilities are old.

We stayed for 8 nights; the room was fine, the breakfast was good but a bit repetitive, available until 9:30 AM from Monday to Friday, and until 10:30 AM on Saturdays and Sundays; I used the laundry, which is free and worked well, there is a pool between the two buildings, and from Monday to Wednesday, there is a free dinner from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM in the same breakfast area; now, what I did not like was that we were on the top floor, the elevator machine made noise 24 hours a day and was sometimes bothersome, one day there was a cockroach in the bathroom, when I arrived the mirrors and window glass were dirty, the area where the shower and toilet were was somewhat small and uncomfortable to enter, the carpet in the hallway outside the room had a strong bad smell, I want to point out that Mr. Omar from maintenance is an excellent person and very helpful, and the location is very good, close to many businesses and the airport.
