This is a beautiful, quaint historic inn with several out buildings. We stayed in the main building, the room at the top of the stairs. The noise from below travels up the staircase early in the morning! The staff are very friendly, from the front desk to the lounge, and I give them 5 stars. I understand this is an old building but it needs some upkeep. The carpet on the stairs and hallway is disgustingly dirty. Doesn’t look like it has been cleaned since it opened. It’s black from foot traffic. The halls are musty smelling. A dehumidifier might help. The room was very comfortable. The expansive front porch with its white rocking chairs was nice, but the chairs were moldy and the window sills were full of bugs. These things should be cleaned at least weekly. It’s Florida! We have bugs and muggy weather in the summer. The room was comfortable with its period furniture.

Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora! The inn is over 125 years old, and that history is part of what makes it so special. It has so much charm and character, yet everything is beautifully maintained. The rooms are certainly historic and have an old-fashioned feel, but they are extremely clean and comfortable. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. And then there’s the location — absolutely gorgeous! The lake views are beautiful, and the sunsets are spectacular. Mount Dora itself is an amazing town, and we look forward to coming back every year. If you appreciate history, charm, beautiful scenery, and genuine hospitality, Lakeside Inn is a wonderful place to stay. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to return

I wish I could only say great things but we had some serious issues with our 1st room. Between the bugs, spiders and lizards we moved rooms at 10:00 pm. A room with an exterior entrance closest to the lake is just a bad idea. I’m truly not sure why they would put anyone in the room. The 2nd room was better only 1 bug but closet smelled of bug spray. The front desk, cleaning and maintenance staff were friendly and helpful. The bartenders were not customer friendly. The location ideal - you can walk everywhere! Also, the pool was GREAT!
