Well I have reflected prior to posting a review but feel I need to make mention about our recent stay. Firstly the pool area/reception are ok. The location is excellent. However the accommodation is dreadful. We arrived late and got given a room on the ground floor we opened the door and the first thing that hit us was the smell it smelt musty and damp. We are not ones to complain however we went to ask for a move and to be fair we got a move to the third floor - whilst moving there was a female from the next room out shouting and swearing in the car park - not what you want or need for a family holiday. The room on the 3rd floor did not smell as bad but it still came with a mouldy smell - the room was dated - the floor was dirty the skirting boards were coated in dust and hair - the fixtures and fittings were awful it was so disappointing - due to the fact that we were not spending too much time in the room we decided to stay, but it was dreadful. Attached pictures illustrate above points. The staff were ok not much in the way of customer service and the concierge service was poor - we got quoted different amounts each day for the theme parks and one person tried to get us a discount by offering us a 7:30am start to view a new developmental property - again this should not have been allowed to happen from inside the hotel - we declined the offer. If you are on a budget I would think very carefully prior to booking this hotel which I have to say was more like a motel, really bad, dirty and kids felt unsafe.

They are using the term "resort" very loosely here. First, let me say that I am particular and I am aware of that, so this review is for those who are also particular. If you have even the most mediocre of standards, this is not the place for you. First of all, its old and when a MOTEL is old, it's nearly impossible to look clean, even if it is, which it was not. There is dust on the door ledges and mold on the tile, I dropped something on the bathroom floor that rolled under the sink..totally disgusting under there. Second, the first night we were there our privacy shade just fell out of the window. I called down to the front desk and they said someone would come. He did come but said he couldn't fix it until tomorrow, so the shade only partly closed. The next morning the toilet clogged so again, I called the front desk and they said they would send someone. After over an hour I went down to the front desk to remind them in person about the toilet and the shade. I went to the store and when I came back my husband said they fixed the toilet, not the shade. I called a third time about the shade and then gave up, who wants to spend their entire vacation worrying about the maintenence of some run down MOTEL. So the entire 4 days we were there we had an open window with people just walking by, no privacy coupled with knocks on our door by strangers every single night. No do not disturb sign so housekeeping just keeps knocking and coming back until you open the door. (I prefer to be left alone while vacationing) The pool is nice, towels are available only half the time. I should have known better than to trust this place but I was drawn in by the photos and great reviews. Don't make the mistake I made.

I wanted to leave this review because, before arriving, I read a lot of horror stories about the rooms and struggled to find many positive reviews. Thankfully, our experience was nothing like what I had read. The room was clean when we arrived, modern and spacious, with plenty of storage. The bathroom and toilet area were not as updated as the rest of the room, but they were clean, functional and did the job. The fridge also worked well and kept everything properly cool. Housekeeping was one of the biggest positives. Regardless of what time we left the room, we always returned to find the bed made and fresh towels provided. The bedding was also changed every three to four days, which was appreciated. We had one issue with the room during our stay, but after reporting it before heading out, it had been fixed by the time we returned that evening. The TV remote had no batteries, though, which meant we could not watch TV during a quiet night in the room. The main downside was the noise. The soundproofing was not great, and we could clearly hear the family in the room next door having full conversations. We could also hear people talking as they passed outside the window, along with traffic noise. Some of this may have been down to an especially loud and inconsiderate family next door who did not seem concerned about disturbing anyone else, rather than the hotel alone. However, the noise from outside the rooms was still quite noticeable. The floors could also have been cleaner, so I would recommend bringing flip-flops or sandals to wear around the room. It was noticeable, but it was not enough to ruin our stay. The on-site laundry facilities were handy. A wash took around 30 minutes and the dryer around 60 minutes. The washing machine said it cost $4 but actually charged $5, while the dryer was another $4, making it $9 altogether, which I thought was expensive. There was a good amount of parking available, and the location was excellent. The hotel is very central on International Drive and only a stone’s throw from ICON Park. Universal was generally around a 10–20 minute drive away, while Disney took approximately 30–40 minutes, depending on traffic. We were charged $280 in hotel fees on arrival, which came as an annoying surprise. When divided across the stay, it worked out at around $10 per person per day, which felt more reasonable. The main issue was that the charge had not been made clearer before arrival. The checkout experience was probably the most disappointing part. Checkout was at 11am, and while we were taking our cases out to the car, the room door was left slightly ajar. A member of staff walked straight into the room and asked whether we were checking out, which felt abrupt and uncomfortable as we were still gathering our belongings. At around 11:15am, we were also locked out of the laundry room even though our clothes were still inside the dryer. It made the end of the stay feel unnecessarily rushed. Overall, there were a few issues, particularly the noise, the floors and the way checkout was handled, but the room was modern, comfortable and significantly better than the negative reviews had led us to expect. The housekeeping was consistent, the location was excellent and the room gave us everything we needed for our trip. I would stay here again and wanted to leave a fair review for anyone who may be worried after reading the same horror stories.
