Wingate by Wyndham Universal & Convention Center

This hotel rents out space to a known vacation package called VO, Vacation Offer Travel Club. We were at the meeting on Monday doing everything we were supposed to do. They lied on us saying we did not stay thru presentation and we were travel agents. We are not. We are sisters aged 71 and 79 that get our vacation deals online. We had bought a package and because they lied, we lost all our money. Tuesday we showed back up peacefully explaining to the gentleman. He was typing something up for us when his wife ran to have the hotel Mgr call the police. Hotel Mgr was rude and yelling at us when we tried to explain. Of course the police came and one of the police heard us. Evidently this has happened before. I will never stay at a Wingate as they are involved in this scam. The police told us that this was a civil matter and we had to leave. Vacationoffer.com is a scam. Wingate is just as guilty.

This hotel's web site shows a shuttle to Universal Studios. What they fail to disclose is that the shuttle operates at 8:00 am; 2 hours before the park opens. The front desk representative said, quote "maybe they will let you in early". And, the "shuttle" only operates on the return at 5:00. Not much of a shuttle.

Quick trip to Universal. We were only here for one night. Hotel agent very nice at check in. I called to let them know our flight would be in after midnight and the agent I talked to said to call back if it would be after 3am and they could check us in online too if needed. Everything was clean and in working order. Area feels safe, they do offer a shuttle to Universal and free breakfast. Would stay again.
