ResortQuest Rentals at High Pointe

We love high pointe. 3rd summer we spend there. But unit 43w is hot garbage. Floor was extremely sandy upon arrival balcony doors didn’t lock. Not a big deal i guess. Balcony might as well have been made out of sand it was so bad. Half of the receptacles didn’t work. All breakers were on. The receptacles that DID work were so loose and worn out. You had to keep something up against the plug to keep it in. Couches were scratchy. All beds were loose and worn out. Sheets were paper thin. Had to steal the blankets off the other two beds just to sleep. Thankfully it was just 3 of us. Shower heads sucked. Zero decorations. Fan switches didn’t work. Also all hidden behind the beds. This place needs a serious serious update. You can tell the owner spends absolutely zero profit keeping this place alive. View was nice. We didn’t run into any security guards Thay gave us trouble like all the other reviews. But one made my wife uncomfortable when he was grabbing my little girls feet while they were washing the sand off and then realized he was being weird so he hurried up and said “I was just playing with her feet”. Absolutely won’t be staying in 43w again. AC worked great. that’s about it

Security!! Let’s chat ab ‘em. Tim’s getting it right… Brittany needs customer service training STAT!! This was our 14th summer at High Pointe. For the past 4 years I have vowed we wouldn’t return. Not because of the property- it’s stunning… then there’s Crabby Steve’s … yummy food & drinks and amazing staff!! We love the location and beach access. Prior to COVID- there were no wrist bands. But holy wrist bands!! To list a few of our run ins… In past years they have refused to let my daughter in the gate (13 at the time), while her brothers were on the other side with their bands. That year was an older gentleman .. I went back and spoke with him.. once he got confrontational, I video’d it. He was inappropriate and aggressive w my teenage daughter. The next year came and we went back, my son’s bday is always while we are at the beach.. he wanted to have friends over… it was an act of congress… but Vacasa, did give us extra bands in the end. Last year was a close second to the year the guard harassed my teenage daughter in that the young, male guard got in my face, at which point I took out my camera and video’d again. I asked multiple times to speak to a manager, when he finally got one on the phone I threatened to post the video on social media. What lit his fire that day, you ask? My daughter’s bf mom wanted to stop by and say hello to her son. Here’s the thing… I paid 8k for a room that slept 8… first of all, I only received 6 bands and asked multiple times for the additional two and NEVER received them. But also… why can’t I have a guest over?!!! It used to not be this way. It would only help spread the word ab the amazing property to have a friend see it. The guard wanted to know if her name was on “the list”… to this day, I would LOVE to see this “list” bc I never provided ANYONE w a list of names of anyone staying. Okay, this year…I booked a room that sleeps 8… should have 8 wrist bands. Only provided with 6. The owner was on it but it still took 3 days to get the additional bands. HOWEVER, the guards were pretty great this year!! Tim deserves to be recognized! Always friendly and always with a smile! Thank you Tim!! The only negative this year happened 2 days before we left, my grown sons were playing a game in the grass, the security guard, BRITTANY, saw them from her post by crabby Steve’s… she approached them and let them know they could not play golf on the property. I will attach pics of the game but it wasn’t golf… it was a whiffle ball- plastic and a plastic golf club. I told the boys she must not have understood what they had and took the ball to her to explain, she got attitude immediately. I was shocked at her response. I immediately texted the owner. Brittany could have realized her mistake and squashed it.. but nope, tens toes deep and then walked away, with a sharp, rude comment in response to my “thank you”. The owner proceeded to lmk she has quite the reputation and was not surprised at all. Overall, security was SO MUCH BETTER this year!! And for the first time in 4 years we are leaving planning to book again for next summer asap. This property really is so special!! And so special to our family in particular!! We love Rhonda, Virginia, Kaitlyn, and new guy Diego at Crabby Steve’s! Gabriel at the beach chair shack is always so friendly and helpful and then again, hats off to Rim the security guard!! See ya next year guys!

May I start by saying this is the first really negative review I have ever written. However, I feel I have an obligation to warn folks coming down here this summer what to expect. To start, the facility is very secure, clean, and has a great pool and great access to the beach with reserved beach chairs for some guests. The restaurant is good and service excellent. Our unit was very spacious and clean. With all of that said, this all has to be placed in the context of an active ongoing renovation to the windows and buildings throughout the complex. Every building appears to have been undergoing a gut replacement of the windows since October of 2024. What this means is that you should expect loud construction work starting at 8:00AM. The windows next yo our unit are currently as I write this being cut out of the wall with a reciprocating saw and hammers, making it impossible to sleep or relax. Additionally, the exterior walls are being power-washed and painted using a mobile bucket hoist that beeps constantly when actively moving in any direction. That translates into several hours of loud beeping (like a backing truck) throughout the day while in your room or outside. The pool was closed for 5 days of our week because of a broken pump that had to be ordered and later installed. Things happen, I get it, but it was just icing on the cake. Since there were double red flags restricting ocean use for 3 of those days, it certainly took the purpose of heading down here away. I think this would be a wonderful destination after the construction is complete. Rosemary Beach is a very high-end area with a much lower population density than right down 30A in either direction. I write this as a warning to those that have not been fully informed by the owners of what to expect when you arrive. The construction is pervasive and will be disruptive during your stay. We avoiding the worst of it until the last couple of days. We are likely leaving a day early to head home since the noise is too much to enjoy our stay at this point or sleep. On a positive note, the pool is back open again now that we are leaving.
