Room 48 Upstairs. Directly in front of the stairwell. VERY small room but equipped with essentials. When we arrived we had to request a parking pass that was supposed to be in the room already. Room was decorated cute but I'm not kidding when I say SMALL. We looked at all of the available rooms to see which ones had showers vs tubs, additional seating instead of just the bed, and upstairs vs downstairs. We settled on room 48 since it had everything we were looking for. We were provided with 2 beach towels for the whole trip and 4 bath towels, so having to hang towels up everywhere to have a dry towel every day was challenging and annoying. I guess we could've washed clothes, you know, while on vacation, but shouldn't that be part of the fees they charge? This was like an AirBnb with all the rules and extra fees. Including-you must clean the dishes, take out the trash and set the AC to a certain degree before leaving. By the third day, I was feeling claustrophobic. The shower head had 0 water pressure. That seems to be the norm EVERYWHERE so I've just given up on that. I've had better water pressure in a rainstorm. Plan to shower for a long time. The room had no smoke detector or sprinkler system. There was a place on the wall above the bed where a smoke detector USED to be, but the only thing there was the base screwed into the wall. Not sure if that's pre-code or grandfathered in but seems like a serious hazard. Especially with a stove and oven in the place. Speaking of stove, the burners didn't fit on the stove so they all sat crooked and your pots and pans would lean over to the side while cooking. Only 3 burners worked but that was okay since I was just heating up basic lunch or breakfast stuff. When we left, we did all of the obligatory work of emptying the trash, gathering up the towels into one area, washing and putting away the dishes, cleaning out the fridge, etc. I realized on our way home that we had left some things in the room in a cabinet. I immediately emailed the management to tell them I wanted the items back and would pay to have them returned. I received a response the next day that management would contact the cleaning crew to see IF they found the items. Like, who else would've? Isn't the cleaning crew the FIRST onsite after you check out??? I guarantee that if we had taken something or broken something, the cleaning crew would've reported it immediately and we would've been charged. But here we are, 5 days after check out and I am still getting excuses from the management company that the cleaning crew hasn't responded to their requests for our left items. We take several mini beach vacations throughout the year. We've been to Hollywood Beach several times, among other places. We decided to try Treasure Island and the Gulf side for the first time in years. We won't be back to Tropic Terrace no matter what. There is too much competition for your business to accept this type of customer service.

The location is great. Place is quiet. They don't tell you how incredibly uncomfortably small the bathroom is. The ice machine isn't working. You get 2 towels for the shower and 2 for the beach. If I would have known I was going to have to pay $6 a day on you of the cost to rent just to have clean towels then I would have brought some with me. The original ad I looked at promised me the world but none of it was there. We messaged about it and they said there was nothing they could do and just stopped messaging. 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towels for the whole week. Had to go buy laundry supplies, toilet paper and paper towels. When if it would have told to me i could have brought everything i needed. Went in the office and she was not very friendly. $3 to wash $3 to dry and I am staying for 7 days on top of $1400. AND upon check out u want me to pay $3 to start washing the towels for you? The bathroom is so small my husband who has back problems couldn't get off the toilet. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because it is clean and quiet. Will NOT be back cause you could disclose this information and don't promise me stuff on one website but not deliver

The room smelled like cigarettes. It’s an old motel they’ve slapped some paint on. Their customer service has been terrible. My family and I didn’t end up even sleeping in this dump and they will not refund or even attempt to rectify the situation.
