February 2026: Had a living situation that required me to get out asap so I was looking for hotels that allowed extended stay. The ESA brand was the only one where I was that didn't seem too terrible - based on reviews- and pricing (to me it's still high based on what you get but it was the best for my budget). I actually called the Crestline location, but looks like the reservation is centralized, and the customer service reps may not have knowledge of the amenities. I picked the Buckhead location because they told me it had a gym and a pool (it's still winter so I didn't expect that to be open) however, I'm not sure how long I would be here and it would be nice if I did stay till summer. Keep in mind if you want a gym - there is NONE, and when I asked the morning after arrival, I was told the pool was filled in so NO pool either.
Arrived on a Sunday evening, used the phone in lobby per sign to call desk attendant, check in was quick. The smell in the lobby was unpleasant (reminds me of the smell in some projects I used to visit for work in NYC). However, the staff that I've encountered so far, all seem pleasant and some are pretty friendly (Shout to Jeff and Abu)!! The tile in the lobby has seen better days - could use a really deep cleaning to remove the traffic stains that built up over the years - also true for the carpet in the hallways (they could at least use daily vacuuming and a nice shampoo to try to resuscitate them a bit).
There is a laundry room but keep in mind you'll need $3.50 in quarters (currently this is the price in Feb. 2026) or you can use a card that has tap but it charges $3.75 (it adds a convenience fee). So total for 1 load of laundry you need about $7 to $8. Also, if you get grossed out, you'll need to get disinfecting wipes to wipe the machines because you can tell guests are washing but no-one cleans the tops of the machines or the lint traps in the dryers.
As for the room, the so called 1 queen bed suite has a pull out sofa ( we didn't attempt to use it - too fearful to find out what might be in it). The pillows were a bit funky so I washed those myself with laundry disinfectant and yes for some reason there seems to be long strands of hairs on the bed sheets and the shower curtains. I simply put my own sheets over the ones on the bed and I brought my own towels and wash cloths so can't comment on those except to say, you have 2 in the room and if you need to exchange any linens (towels, the shower curtains) there is a $2 charge currently each time you exchange. Housekeeping will come every 2 weeks - haven't encountered them yet because I haven't been here that long. If you're here for more than 7 days they do a visual welfare check - can't speak to that either not been that long. The room floors are not carpeted which I like - we personalized the room by wiping everything down with disinfecting wipes and washing the tub that had a black stain with bleach. You may encounter roaches - already saw a small cockroach and a large water bug in the 1st couple days. The room we're in has what seems to have been some water damage on the ceiling with some peeling paint over the kitchen area and in the bathroom.
There are not many toiletries, just a tiny tube of something and a small bar of soap in the bathroom and another tiny bar for handwashing at the sink. Also only a couple rolls of toilet paper. We were lucky we brought our own items.
The bed was soft enough for us but everyone has their preference. If you are from a very quiet area remember this is quiet urban in the sense that it is by a busy street - the forward rooms face that and the rooms in back face a pretty active set of train tracks with trains running all day and all night. The AC unit is also quiet noisy.
They do have a 2 burner stove-top (you'll need your own pans and plates OR you have to now buy them for about $35 at the front if they have any). You'll need to have your own soap and sponge to wash dishes ( no dishwasher in the room I was given). There is no coffee maker, like I'm used to in other higher end hotels. They claim on the web and at their reservation that there is grab and go breakfast something like juice and maybe a snack bar but I haven't asked or tried to see what they actually serve. there is a full size fridge that has a freezer, so if you're gonna be here awhile that's nice and there are cupboards for storing things.
The one very nice thing about this location is that it is very close to a Walgreens (hadn't been to one in a couple of years so I was a bit shocked at some of the prices but it's good fro grabbing convenience and cleaning items), a Starbucks is just past that and then there's also Kroger's (this is a bit pricier than the area I just left) plus other places for fast food and even wines. Many people staying here seem to drive, I'm not but I do see the bus go by and the MARTA trains so I assume those are pretty close and accessible if I do want to go further than this neighborhood.
Would I recommend you stay here? Not if you can afford to do better. I saw another review that said the place was renovated...I think it's due for another.

Abou, the property manager at this location and his team: Davon, Bianca, Kal, and Rodney offer excellent service specific to your needs, and circumstances. Abou has gone above and beyond to be accommodating, making sure that my family, and I had a safe place to stay. I appreciate being seen as a person, and not just a reservation filling a room. The kindness, and empathy received by Davon was heart warming. The welcoming energy extended by Bianca has been a joy. The authentic conversations with Kal made me feel seen as a guest. Thank you all for doing a great job of showing up for me and my family. Many blessings to you all!
