We had a delightful time at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atlanta North Perimeter. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and BIG. The breakfast bar was staffed and the food was plentiful with a great selection. The location is perfect and you can go Interstate or stay on the backroads to get around near here. FREE PARKING was a Super +! This will be our Go To from now on in the ATL area.

I was here last month and when I checked in, it was the strangest and oddest check in I've ever had in the US. I had my DL for proof of ID, then the guy wanted another ID.
What? I also noticed he took a copy of my DL. I didn't say anything, but that is completely unwarranted. The room was ok, but ran out of shampoo during my stay. The biggest room lamp had a burned out bulb. I called the front desk and someone who would resemble management/ownership from the Mumbai Mafia responded, first he tried to dismiss it saying there were other lights in the room. WHAT?? After I asked for a bulb replacement, he said he'd send a maintenance person. That never happened during my stay, so I'd say they probably don't have one regularly on staff.
The final blow was on check out day. I had a DND sign on my door and was granted a 12 noon check out by the front desk. At 11:20 am, housekeeping knocked on the door, within seconds opened it and walked right in, ignoring my 12 late check out, DND sign or giving appropriate time to respond to their knock. I could have been naked or doing something else, but never mind to housekeeping.
I am very shocked a IHG francise hotel operation, within a 5 minute drive to IHG international corporate offices, could be allowed to operated in such an unacceptable manner. I've stayed at IHG hotels for 40 years and have seen the standards slip every decade. This place falls right in line with those slipping standards.
I told the front desk about this experience at check out. I received the standard, "I'm sorry sir", but that was it.

The worst Holiday Inn Express I have ever stayed.
A completely uncomfortable and unsafe experience.
When we arrived, there was a smell of gas in the lobby; the employee called the manager, but they did nothing. The next day, there was an explosion in the hotel laundry room. The hotel had to be evacuated immediately. Firefighters arrived to handle the situation. Employees told me that the smell had been present for days. It took an explosion occurring for management to finally take action.
The following day, when I went to take breakfast to the room for my mother—an 85-year-old senior who, due to her age, could not make it down early enough for breakfast—an employee told me that I could not take the food to the room because the manager was watching via the security cameras and they would charge me for it. I had already paid for that breakfast, as my mother was a duly registered guest.
Given these two incidents, I decided to leave the hotel immediately. I had paid for a full week, but I decided to move to the Marriott Perimeter instead—and the experience there was spectacular.
Additionally, the pool looked to be in poor condition, the general atmosphere of the hotel was terrible, and parts of the bathroom were moldy. The 2 coffee machine it’s out of service. I definitely do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Stay away from this place if you are looking for a decent place to stay.
