Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club

Campsites were well maintained, information desk, check in, Camp Host, restaurant, recreation. Facilities and grounds were well kept, handicap accessible, 5 Star campground and cottages.

This was a little slice of heaven. I was delighted to find this on the internet and it lives up to it's hype. It is a perfect stop from Florida to North Carolina. We stayed in a cottage which was clean and refreshingly unique. It is a throwback to my vacations with family in the 1960's. It was clean and fun. The Military Museum was one of the best I have seen. We also enjoyed meals and drinks at the nearby marina.

The one problem I had was finding out about restaurants and what was available. I had read about a prime rib special for Thursday night but there wasn’t one. Went to Marina Grill, it was ok though the waitress was great. Went to 16 East Bar&Grill and it was great! Rode the train to Plains and that was very nice and enjoyable!
