DAYS INN AT ELLIS SQUARE

We are loyal IHG members and have enjoyed staying at various Hotel Indigos around the world . However, this particular hotel was not up to IHG’s usual standards. We reserved a suite ~ which was a large two room accommodation directly above the street. It was horribly noisy and the noise carried on right below our bed ALL night long. The room was shabby. For example, the sofa in the living area was so dirty and spotted that we avoided sitting on it. The bathroom door did not latch and had a tendency to slide open on its own. Breakfast came with our booking. While one of us had well prepared food, the other’s eggs and hash browns were swimming in grease. The bananas in the bowl of fruit were brown. The coffee was good. The front desk was unable to change a $20 bill, so we had no tip money for the valet. The bartender and the server in the dining room were both very pleasant. We won’t be staying at the Indigo on future visits to Savannah.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Indigo Savannah Historic District. While I honestly didn’t spend much time at the hotel because I was busy exploring beautiful Savannah, it was the perfect home base for my trip. My room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what I needed after long days of walking the city. What really made my stay stand out was the staff. Every person I interacted with was incredibly kind and welcoming—from the front desk, to the bartender, the kitchen staff when I had dinner one evening, the concierge, and especially the valet team, who always greeted me with a smile and made sure I had a cold bottle of water before I headed out each day. Those little acts of kindness made a big difference. They even found me bandages for the blisters I’d earned from exploring Savannah on foot, and after I got caught in one of Savannah’s famous downpours, they greeted me with a towel and a smile. That’s the kind of hospitality you don’t forget. The location is fantastic. I was able to walk to so many of Savannah’s attractions, restaurants, and River Street, which made my trip even more enjoyable. I was so busy sightseeing that I didn’t even realize the hotel had an outdoor seating area until I was leaving—that just means I’ll have to come back and actually relax there next time! Thank you to everyone who made my 50th birthday trip feel so welcoming. Southern hospitality is real, and I experienced it from the moment I arrived. I would happily stay here again.
