Elevator had bugs and unpleasant smell. Hallway smelled as well. Unclean pool area. Which smelled like mold. No working rest room in lobby. Receptionist told my wife she could not stand by the front counter while I was trying to register. Seemed like the manager/receptionist could have cared less about the situation. Didn’t even bother to look at the problems. So never checked in. Used Southwest points to make the reservation and they refused to refund. This was my first stay at a Red Roof hotel and picked because it was a Red Roof PLUS.

Very clean and everything worked. Nevertheless the pillows are quite hard. My advice if you like fluffy pillows: bring your own

Red Roof Inn is known to be accomodating to the millions of people that travel with their pets. While I realize that it's more work on the hotel staff, wear and tear, etc, one of the reasons their hotel is picked is because of the including of pets. When we arrived there, after a long drive, there was a list of don'ts. Don't leave pet in room (fine, we rarely do). No food in the hotel rooms, including the breakfast (what??), and so if you want breakfast you need to bring your pet down, sit in a designated area (room for 4 people or so), and none of this was stated when the reservation made, but right at sign in. A little bit of a GOTCHA situation, and not appreciated. I suppose this is a hotel by hotel thing, as I've stayed at other RRI/RR+ and never been restricted like this. While the room was clean and bed comfortable etc, kindly think about the people that are paying the hotel money to stay there, and be considerate of your clientele.
