Holiday Surf Hotel

This hotel met our needs as a place to stay one night before our cruise. Price was great. Location was good (took bus from airport to hotel and from hotel to cruise port). The building is older but clean and elevator and AC worked well. Beds were comfy plenty of floor space in room and bathroom. Windows are old single pane slat crank windows, so it can be noisy but the AC and a White Noise app on my phone drowned out the street noise. No view. Not a 24 hour front desk, but staff is reachable via a Ring Camera during business hours and offer free luggage storage (with a pre-planned times). Would stay again - can't beat the budget pricing!

I stayed at the Holiday Surf Hotel 5/18-5/22/2026...the staff is so nice and friendly and accommodating. The location is central to everything and easy access off of Ala Wai Blvd. I paid a little extra to park underneath the hotel, which was very convenient and easy in/easy out. I was in town for a family event and enjoyed the peace and quiet of having my own room, with its old Hawaiian charm and cleanliness and comfort. I had a full kitchen but only made use of the coffee maker and microwave as I was not in my room except to sleep. I had air-conditioning and the bed was comfortable, and I did not hear anything from the boulevard below, so I slept well. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

We will be there this Christmas 2025. I’m leaving a low review for the owner due to their lack of flexibility and unwillingness to accommodate a rare situation. I accidentally booked my reservation through Booking.com because of a glitch in my booking app. I contacted the property manager immediately the same day, explaining the mistake and requesting that they waive the cancellation fee. I understand they may be concerned about filling the property during the holidays, but as the owner, they had the ability to modify the reservation and chose not to. Instead, they insisted it was non-refundable. Future travelers, be aware that they strictly enforce their cancellation policy regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunately, this has left us stuck with a reservation we no longer want, forcing us to spend Christmas at a property we’re unhappy with. This experience has completely dampened our holiday plans. In addition, they bribe people to leave a good review for them with a 20% discount????? Unbelievable. Would not recommend.
