Ocean View Suite at Royal Kahana

The hotel turned out not to be a hotel but a kind of apartment complex, where tenants also stay for a long time. Everything is very dated and looks grubby. Air conditioning could not cool the room, and the pressure on the water in the bathroom was downright minimal. Our view of the sea was more like a view of the roofs of a dozen cars parked in the garden, and a food truck whose greasy smell was blown over our balcony, instead of the expected fresh ocean breeze. Upon check-in it turned out that we had to pay more than $380!! in extra cleaning costs for 5 nights on top of the already paid room rate. In addition, additional costs for parking were added. The pool was full of dirt on arrival and the ‘beach’ consisted of a wall of torn sandbags. In short, not recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Royal Kahana. The room was beautiful, and the ocean view was absolutely breathtaking. I especially appreciated that our room was fully equipped with everything we needed throughout our trip, making our stay comfortable and convenient. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would absolutely recommend the Royal Kahana to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Maui.
