Napili Kai Beach Resort

We booked the Napili Kai as part of a package with Costco. After 4 nights in Waikiki we wanted the second half of our Hawaiian getaway to be quieter. The Naplili Kai Resort is perfect for that. We had an ocean view room with a lanai and a nice kitchenette. We had packed our own snorkeling gear and greatly enjoyed snorkeling right from the cove in front of our building. We had dinner in the Sea House restaurant the first night. The frozen coconut mojitos are highly recommended. We had also lunch there once (overly breaded fish tacos) but found we actually liked the snack bar by the pool a little better. They make an amazing acai bowl for breakfast and turkey burgers for lunch. I only wish they had longer hours. The property is extremely lush with tropical flowers blooming everywhere. Just walking around the property is amazing. You can watch the sunset at the beach each night or on your lanai and really enjoy that Hawaiian experience you picture when you imagine being in Hawaii. No crowds. No crazy loud music. Just ocean waves and breezes. Pros: Dedicated parking for each building. It was so nice to come back to the hotel after touring the island and know that you will have an easy parking space! Easy beach access and calm cove for snorkeling and body surfing. Water bottle filling station in the lobby. Ice machine in the laundry room, if you need it. Putting green is fun for a quick afternoon activity. Sea House servers are extremely friendly and helpful. Beach towels are provided at the snack bar. Cons: This is an older property and our room did have a bit of a musty smell. Not a huge deal but if you are sensitive to it, it was noticeable when we entered the room but didn't bother us overall. I would absolutely stay here again. Great service.

My husband and I stayed at the NKBR booked through Donna Bender Maui Calls. We were in a spectacular ocean front studio that faced Napili Bay. The resort felt like vintage Hawaii. Parking was also easy and right outside our room, which was very convenient. The hotel staff were super friendly, too. Donna also graciously gave us her local girls guide to Maui, which was super helpful. We can’t wait to go back!

Napili Kai was wonderful for our first trip to Maui. As many have mentioned the resort was beautiful, laidback and had a great restaurant. We only wished that we had spent more time there during our brief four night stay. We loved having the coastal walking trail so close by. Donna gave us her Local Girl’s Guide to Maui which had lots of good tips as well as restaurant and activity suggestions. She also helped with our preferred accommodations there. We would love to come back if it wasn’t such a long way away!
