BEST WESTERN PLUS ANTIOCH HOTEL & SUITES

If I could give zero stars, I would. There is nothing redeeming about this hotel. The entire facility is run down, outdated, and reeks of mildew. When I opened the window hoping for fresh air, I was greeted instead with filth and dead bugs. The bedding smelled just as bad, like linens that hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The king mattress was uncomfortable, and the pillows were lumpy and undersized, standard pillows on a king bed is just absurd. The bathroom was no better: sagging, water-damaged popcorn ceiling panels hung precariously overhead. Customer service? Nonexistent. The front desk clerk was rude and condescending, choosing to sit in the bar rather than at the desk. When I waited for service, she shouted across the room, “Do you need something?” Not exactly hospitality. As for the “free breakfast”don’t bother. It’s stale bread and little else. This is hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The saddest part is that I stayed here 14 years ago and had a pleasant experience. It has gone so far downhill since then, it’s unrecognizable. Yes, it may be the only hotel in Antioch, but do yourself a favor and book in one of the surrounding towns. This place should be avoided at all costs.

Reasonable property and amenities. Great check in experience. Had 2 rooms last night and additional stay booked in fall. Visit was for sisters funeral at 2 pm. Asked for late checkout on one room for 1:30 as no place to go before funeral. Mouth music reply from Barbara about policy and people wanting early check in (if it’s all about policy for checkout, it should be same for early check in). Highly suggest room for empathy and slight departure from rigid policy would have been appropriate. Frustrating for this frequent and world traveler who normally checks out of rooms before 8:00 am.

They charged $150 extra after we checked out. First stating it was a cleaning fee. Then stating we stole a blanket. We didn't steal a blanket or leave a big mess. We stayed there 2 nights as a family of four. We have pictures of the room from Sunday morning. We spoke with Vikie Esparza the manager. She refused to help. We have filed a complaint with the BBB. Avoid this business. (See the pictures below and judge for yourself if that warrants an extra $150 cleaning fee)
