Days Inn Charleston- Airport Coliseum

When we checked in the motel, the manager was very rude and stating how we shouldn't have gone through a 3rd party because supposedly it would've been cheaper to go through them (FALSE!). The room had an awful musty smell and the toilet wouldn't flush so we had to wait for a maintenance person to repair before we could get some rest that night. The toilet paper rolls were placed way too uncomfortably close to the toilet and at seat level, there was a wheel missing on the one chair in the room, there were cobwebs in the corners of the room's ceiling, the refrigerator didn't work and there was a cockroach crawling around in it, and the hair dryer looked as though it was melted and the pkug covering was stripped which should be a safety hazard!! Thank goodness that I don't ever blow dry my hair or need to!! DISGUSTING!! When my husband went to get me a cup of coffee the following morning, they ran out of cups!! Seriously?? A motel running out of cups???? And when the other couple who were joining us for this trip arrived the following afternoon to check in, the manager was again very rude and had to check ALL of our IDs (which she didn't bother to check both mine and my husband's the prior afternoon for our check in) now mind you, she was "training" a young lady during this time and our room key wasn't working when we came back to the room so she had to reprogram it and tried to blame it on my husband as to why it wasn't working. There was no housekeeping in site and yet someone had been in our room and took a used towel, but yet hadn't cleaned up the room at all, including not changing the bed linens or making them up!! The morning before our check out while brushing my teeth the plumbing under the sink busted so the water was pouring out onto the floor in the room. The only real consulation that we had during our stay at this crappy motel was the very, very polite, very, very helpful, and very, very hospitable young man who worked there!! If you're looking for a really really cheap motel for just a place to lay your head, that's what you will definitely get and then some!!! Otherwise, don't waste your money!!!!

I fear for my life with the staff. They seem actually dangerous. Bring protection when staying here or just go somewhere safer. I called the front desk and they breathed in the phone and said nothing for more than a couple minutes. Very creepy.

Beds very comfortable, but the bug problem needs to be fixed. And the fact that there was feces on the toilet paper in our room was gross. Also get the hot water fixed. It took 30 mins before it got hot
