If I could give LeFevre 10 stars I would. My husband, brother and I recently spent 3 nights at the resort in the 3 bedroom garden apartment.
We could not have been more comfortable or enjoyed ourselves more. The only thing that might have been better is the weather.
The apartment includes a large veranda with tables, chairs, a gas barbecue and hot tub and a lovely view of fields, hills and a small lake.
Inside, the apartment is immaculate and attractively decorated. There is a very well-equipped kitchen, a living room with comfortable seating and a gas fireplace, 3 large bedrooms with beds that promise a good night’s sleep and 2 bathrooms. A tasty continental breakfast is included.
What really makes LeFevre special is Romona, the owner.
Before we arrived, she made dinner reservations for us and offered suggestions for things to do, ensuring that we would be able to make the most of our visit. Gracious and warm, She and her staff were attentive to our needs and extended every courtesy to us. We look forward to our return!

First time here and it was quiet and restful and cozy. The room was beautifully done with a fireplace and a deck outside to set. The weather was perfect for setting outside and reading. There is a road to take a walk on and see the wildflowers blooming. Took about 10 minutes to get to Galena and was a pretty drive also about 30 minutes from Dubuque, Iowa. The only issue was the dry sauna didn't work because there is a hole in the roof that lets out the heat and the waterfall in the pool (enclosed) is so loud that you can't talk without almost yelling at the person. Need to trickle down not roar. The concierge desk were very friendly and helpful.

Met friends at the Eagle Ridge Resort & was shocked at the condition of this poorly maintained facility: roof repairs needed; peeling paint on porches, soiled carpets, & some overgrown bushes in the landscaping. Fortunately, Galena was charming & being with our friends was all that really mattered. If on our own, we would stay at the Desoto House where we've stayed before.
