I stayed at Best Western North in Joliet Illinois. The atmosphere was great with friendly and accommodating staff. My room was perfect with all the amenities like shampoo conditioner soap hair dryer and iron. I used my points and got my room for a real discount. The hotel was very quiet which I needed for the long drive . The room was very clean and refreshing. I will always return to this hotel .

My family and I had a very disappointing experience during our stay. Although the hotel is advertised as non-smoking, the entire floor we stayed on had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, which made the stay uncomfortable. I was also incorrectly charged for four extra guests when there was only one additional person. When I called the front desk to fix it, the staff member questioned whether he should “believe me” that my daughters are 11, as they attempted to charge for them as well. This was unprofessional and completely unnecessary. Even after addressing the mistake, I was not fully refunded. They claimed the extra-guest fee had increased from $10 to $20 per person after the fact, which felt dishonest and misleading. The amenities were poorly maintained. The pool water was green, and the hot tub was extremely small. Our room also had noticeable issues, including a scratched headboard and multiple dents and marks throughout. To make matters worse, the power went out across the entire hotel on our last day. Overall, the stay fell far below expectations, and I would not choose this property again

How does a 5 star worthy hotel receive only 1 star??? I’ll tell you! There is absolutely nothing wrong with this Best Western Plus, nice room, clean, comfortable bed, etc… But!!! In a cost cutting effort, they have removed all of the in-room coffee makers. After checking in we noticed there was no coffee in the room, the wife and I kept thinking that we just couldn’t find it because EVERY hotel has in-room coffee… Right? So I go down and talk to the clerk who told me no, there is no coffee in your room because we have that fancy coffee maker in the lobby. After a short discussion about my need to possibly change hotels, he went and got me a Keurig for my room. If anyone at Best Western reads these comments, I hope they learn that not everyone is OK with this decision.
