There is a rich. yet unpretentious, opulence to the decor throughout the hotel. Dark woods, leather, shaded lighting--it's art deco blended with a classic exclusive country club feel. But the essential richness is in the way the staff treats you. From the thoroughness in the way Monica Greene handled my company's reservations (she said "I got you Mr.Williams"), to the warm facilitating way Da'Jah took my info and assigned me a room, to the way Deonte distilled information, straightened out the check-in date for a colleague--and gave me a free drink ticket! It was all wonderful, sincere and helped to make a memorable and rich stay. When I return to Chicago I'm sure I'll want to stay here again. Thank you all.

Based on the reviews, I expected a much better hotel experience. Unfortunately, the stay was disappointing. Dirty forks from previous guests were left between furniture for days without being picked up. The property feels neglected, with chipped paint throughout. The shower had very poor water pressure, and the bathroom was very small. The sink design was awkward and made it uncomfortable even to wash your hands. The blankets looked old and worn, and the beds also felt outdated and were not very comfortable. Overall, the hotel did not live up to the expectations set by its reviews.

This place is absolutely amazing. From check-in to checkout the staff was friendly, extremely courteous and professional. I would highly recommend this place for a stay in downtown Chicago anytime. The lobby is beautiful, the hotel was very clean and housekeeping was excellent. I’ll be traveling back to Chicago in Sept. and I’m already looking to book my next stay here. Mary C.
