Very nice hotel with the one exception which is the shower is far too small. Whoever designed the bathroom does not understand the use of space because it is a large room with a large tub and a large sink area (all good things) but then a tiny narrow shower. Why would you have all this space and use it for a tub instead of the shower. Clearly management made the mistake of not actually living in the space because they would have instantly recognized the error. So note to management, tear out the tubs and make the showers 2X the size. Sorry to harp on this but it is silly to have such nice rooms and large bathrooms to then squeeze patrons into a tiny shower space.

Luigi checked us in for our stay during our anniversary weekend. He was inviting, professional, and gave us an upgrade for our anniversary, which was very kind. The room was a full suite, and it was nicely appointed. We have stayed at The Gwen several times before, and it is always a consistently lovely experience. We would highly recommend The Gwen to anyone who is looking to stay in a chic hotel with great service and a solid location.

Checked in this afternoon for our stay at The Gwen in downtown Chicago. The hotel is in a great part of town and within walking distance to many attractions. Upon check in, Luigi gave us some advice on getting around the city. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. It was the perfect start for our trip. Thanks, Luigi! You are awesome!!!
