Quality Inn Elgin

The website says recently remodeled. Not sure what their definition of recent is, but the furniture was old and beat up. The lamps were all wobbly and had gross stuff dried on the base. The beds were OLD box spring mattresses that creaked and springs poked and made the beds uncomfortable. You couldn't see thru the windows because they were all fogged up in between the pains. The air conditioner fan was loud. The carpets in the halls and stairways were all stained up. The exterior doors did not shut securely so anyone could get into the building. I did get the room switched for the 2nd nite but the only improvement was the lamps were in tact. The state of this hotel is appalling and I will not be booking there again ever!!! It's was worse than some of the $69 eco places I've stayed in.

Its an OK place no bugs. But no elevator means lugging luggage or a room in the parking lot! Why do the noisy cars always back in so I get more noise and exhaust fumes

The mixed reviews almost scared me away, but I took a chance. The staff was all very nice. The room is big for a budget hotel. Ours is a king with a pull out couch. It also has a chair with foot rest and a desk and chair. It’s been updated with a shower and hard floors instead of carpet. I saw a lot of other people in the hotel and the lot is full but we didn’t hear anyone in our room. I’d stay again and recommend for the price.
