Skylark Motel Chicago Midway Airport

I live in Chgo,my birth place& haven't been to this hotel in mny yrs, but I wouldnt step inside tht place if u paid me!! I live in the neighbrhood residential area of this "hotel"& think it's a shame & pity our tourists see this type of "business" here. Its a very OLD 50+ run dwn,seedy place thts known for drugs & prostitution.The ONLY reason they can get away w/charging $100/rm is bc of its location,THTS IT,othrwise it's not worth $5!! Evn dwn the entire Cicero Ave(head'd No.) which is a busy main street taken to the nearest eway "to dwntwn area"& to the closest local stores, but is also the very "1st glympse" our tourists get to see of this othrwise very beautiful city. Past Archer Ave going No bound, Cicero Ave scares the 💩outta me & I live here &hve been "desensitized" to seeing this. All the panhandling, ppl walking w/babies strappd to their backs begging for $$, ppl on the Cicero eway off ramps begging for$$, ppl walking w/cups wearing signs coming RIGHT UP to ur crackd for air window...I can only IMAGINE wat their FRESH👀 are telling their brain🤯. This makes me so very sad😥 for our entire city bc this puts a damper on the whole "Chicago experience" & wat it's many diverse,very beautiful neighborhoods & its peoples REALLY represent. We have a beautiful melting pot of all ethnicities & cultures here & so much to do,see,taste & learn!! I luv & am proud of my home city of Chicago but think we can def do better in the Midway Airport Area & surroundings of which. We pay exorbitant property taxes & for?? I've traveled to mny cities & hve stayed w/various motels/hotels. If I evr experienced anything like "The SkyLark Hotel"horror show & then driving dwn n.b on Cicero Ave seeing wats there, I'd bust a u-turn & board the nxt plane for home!! My advice to any tourists coming outta Midway, stay at the "known name" hotels going South of Cicero Ave or lodge @ either hotels "dwntwn"(4&5☆) or in the nearest local burbs(Burbank,LaGrange, Willowbrook, Westmont). It may cost a few xtra bucks but in sum things,u get wat u pay for!! Save on gas? Stay away frm Midway Airport area, Cicero Ave gas stations. If u just travel 6 blks west of Cicero Ave(Central Ave) it'll cost much less. I hope this helps somebdy visiting to Chicago. Peace & Luv🙏🏼❤

Bed Bugs 🤢🤮. I stayed in Room 51. The manager informed me that he'd give me a whole FREE Month stay at the SkyLark. Thanks!! And yes he's very rude and hateful. The other employees that work there are very nice and polite. They don't take anything personal, they just do their jobs. I took pictures of the bed bugs. I also called the police and made a police report. And I contacted the Human Services department.

My husband and I stayed at the Skylark this fall; we had an early flight out of Midway and didn't want to have to leave our house in the middle of the night to make our flight. The Skylark provided exactly what we were looking for: a clean, comfortable room, free parking right outside our door, reasonable price, and location -- location -- location! The motel is not quite 2 miles from the parking lot we had selected, so we were able to get a good night's sleep, and leave for the airport at a reasonable hour. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected and had good lighting. Even though we were right off the street, we didn't experience noisy conditions (the aircraft taking off were noticeable, but after 11:00 pm, this was not an issue). I would stay here again.
