Motel 6 Des Moines East - Altoona

The entire hotel, inside and out was just nasty! Trash all outside and the hallways smelt like dirt and mildew. The room I stayed in was just horrible. The bathroom tub faucet sprayed out all over the floor. The walls and light switches were so filthy. Shoe prints and burgers on the wall. We asked for clean towels and they told us we had to wash our towels that we already used. We then asked for more garbage bags and they refused to give us any! The only reason we stayed in that hotel is because every other hotel was booked.

The price is good but I wouldn't stay here again. Didn't feel safe, the hallways are dirty and very sketchy people who looked like they were staying here full time. The room was ok for the price. No security, outside doors were not locked so anyone can come and go. Just glad my car was OK in the morning and this place was in my rear view mirror.

Bonnie, the front desk receptionist, was a horrible to her customers. Rooms were not ready by the time of check in. Continued to use the excuse "It's not my fault that I only have two house keepers". Yes ma'am it is partially. Do you treat your house keepers in this same manner? That is why you only have two house keepers. Horrible service. Do not recommend!!
