Very easy process checking in. Quiet and comfortable room.

When we arrived at the hotel we checked in our room. We found the air conditioner on high and the window completely open. The screen for the window was bent open and the room had flies and mosquitoes in it. The bed spreads had burn holes, the lamp shades were stained and shredded. The only pillows on my bed were two mini pillows that were smaller than a decorator pillow. The sheets were stained. We took some pictures and headed to the front desk to speak to the desk manager. He acted as if he was appalled and gave us a new room. The new room was even worse and smelled horrible. We went back to the front desk manager and he took notes and told us he was going to contact the owner/manager and get back to us. We were in town for a tournament that we had to be at early in the morning so we decided to go to the store and buy some sheets and pillows and make the best of it. The front desk manager said we would get credit for this on our bill. After we arrived back from the store we asked the front desk manager if he had head from the owner/manager. He said no and that if the owner/manager did not text him back within the next ten minutes that we would not hear anything tonight. He said the owner/manager would be there at 7:00 am the next day. I told him that we would be leaving to go to a tournament we are in at 6:30am and if he could give the owner/manager my phone number so I could speak with him. He said sure and that he had notes from everything to give him. We went up to our room and tried to turn on the television but it didn't work. So we went back down to the front desk and the front desk manager was sitting with a friend said he would be up to help us in about 15 minutes. When he finally came to our room I asked if they had a refrigerator to keep some of our food in because I had assumed there would be one in the room. He stated..."Why didn't you tell me that you didn't have a refrigerator?" So he left to get a refrigerator and we were amazed at his reply! So later when we finally put our purchased clean sheets and pillows cases on our bed because he never offered us any clean sheets or pillows. Before leaving for the tournament in the morning, we stopped back at the front desk. There was now a woman at the front desk. We told her the situation and everything that happened. She looked in the computer and said there were NO notes at all about our experience and did not know that we were waiting to hear from the owner/manager. So, I asked her to give the owner/manager my number so we could speak to him. When we returned from the tournament that evening we asked the woman at the front desk if she spoke to the owner/manager. She said no and that there was nothing she could do to help us because the owner/ manager would not be back until Monday because he was on vacation. I contemplated calling the following week but I don't think any employee will tell me the truth or let me actually speak to the owner/manager. There was no communication or compensation and I would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone. I am going to file a complaint with the BBB and post my review with pictures online. In town for an event and had my dog with me. Holiday weekend and this was the most reasonable option for a hotel that accepted dogs and still paid $139 a night plus $20 night dog fee. The first clue on what was to come was the outside sign that proclaimed smoking rooms! Staff friendly. Three night stay and each and every day the first floor hallway either smelled like cigarette smoke or pot. Guy across hall was a live in and leaves door open to his mess and walks around shirtless. Every day, during all hours there were cars sitting in parking lot with men inside for long periods. It feels like this place is the meet up point to buy drugs. Did I mention the pot smell?! Trash continued to pile up outside the front side enterance between Friday and Sunday when photo taken. The room: overall appeared tidy but don’t look behind things or to closely, dark carpet and did not see carpet stains, towels rough and paper thin, bed was comfortable, noisy AC unit, fridge was filthy inside, sloppy remodel, large crack under door to hallway, NO extra security chain on room door!!! My room had a cheesy tub with jets and mirrors behind it in the main room and a pretend “fireplace.” There is a small sign at front desk informing you are charged an extra 3% if paying with debit or credit card staying here. The desk clerk does not mention. This is a hotel and you need to book room with a cc?!! This place offers weekly rates and well much of the clientele seem to be the cash only sort. I give a one star for the smell and seediness of the place. The rate is very high for a “hotel” of this sort. Should be in the $69 range. If looking for a quick nights sleep, a shower and you don’t mind walking out to the smell of cigarettes and pot this is your place! I’ll stay elsewhere next time in town as expect better from a Choice hotel brand.
