HAMPTON INN SUITES SIOUX CITYS

Very disappointing. The gold curtains needed a curtain hook so it looked terrible; the sheer curtains underneath wouldn't close together in the center. Fortunately, I had a clip to hold them. (new necessity for me while traveling!) The fan on the AC/heat unit was unbearably loud and rattly sounding! Again, fortunately and unusually, we didn't need either heat or AC. The floor lamp had no switch, had to be unplugged to turn it off. Plastic drinking glasses were not enclosed in plastic. Who handled them last? I mentioned a couple of these things to the manager (per his sign) in the morning, and he said he'd take care of it. I said I'd put it in my review, but I never got a review via email! I thought the company sent them out but apparently the manager does. While dealing with me in the morning, he had a radio going in a foreign language, too loud, and he made no effort to turn it down. Absolutely no customer service.

Lovely, well-decorated, comfortable room with king-sized bed, sofa, ottoman and desk. Clean room. Attentive, friendly staff. Typical free hotel breakfast fare. I didn’t care for the air-freshener scented duvet cover, however it wasn’t a problem and the staff offered to exchange it right away for a fresh unscented covering. If you’re sensitive to smells, request a room without an air freshener. Did not detract from a five-star experience.

I have stayed at this particular Hampton several times. It can be a little tricky to find, but I like it because it's at the south end of Sioux City. In the morning, our shower barely got warm, despite letting it run for several minutes. The breakfast was cold too. I reported the water temp. issue to the front desk at check-out, and the girl didn't seem surprised. No explanation or apology was offered either. We left disappointed, especially because this was the most expensive hotel on our trip.
