The Bluemont Hotel

Hotel stay was quite convenient being close to the school and bar district. Jake at the bar was welcoming and went above and beyond for what we needed, said he was new to the management position and couldn’t recommend anyone better. Great stay overall

This is a hotel that 'depends on who is working that day'. As we arrived, the two young women at reception were great. Our room wasn't ready but they gave us options on where to eat and hang out. After quite a long time of the room not being ready they offered us a voucher for a free breakfast the next morning...we appreciated that. Breakfast was ok, but the woman who checks you into the breakfast was pretty rough on every group or couple that walked in. Not how most people want to start their day. We were heading out early for the day, but my son needed to take a final online at 3pm, so we asked the front desk if we could get the room cleaned before 3pm so he could set up for his Zoom class. That gave them a 7 hour window to clean our room, and they assured us they would get it cleaned. We returned at 2:45pm and the room hadn't been touched. When we went down to mention it to the reception desk, that woman did not seem to have any reaction, she mostly just stared at us. So I think it really depends on who is working. Some were good and accommodating and understanding. Some were not customer service oriented. The room itself, the Executive King, was huge and the views were FANTASTIC. It was clean-ish. Was good enough for us, but I can see why some people wouldn't agree. So, hard to say if I'd recommend this hotel. We were there when it wasn't busy and it was hit or miss. So if you are traveling in a busy season, probably a bit of a risk.

The staff were very nice. The hotel was decently clean, the double queen room was spacious. It was very walkable to the college bars and restaurants. Paying extra for parking and breakfast made this higher priced than the value. The TV is small and the furnishings a bit worn. The pool is very small, very cold and 4 out of the 10 chairs were broken and the seat cushions were moldy.
